The Prospects Challenge is happening this weekend in Buffalo, and Bruins youngsters will take on their Pittsburgh Penguins peers on Friday.
There’s a few guys to keep an eye on, including Fabian Lysell, Mason Lohrei, Matt Poitras, and Georgii Merkulov. The guys closest to making the NHL roster might be John Beecher, who needs to make a great impression at this tournament.
Plus, head coach Jim Montgomery confirms there will be a captain this season (Brad Marchand? Charlie McAvoy?), and there will also be a new assistant coach named soon.
And Jake DeBrusk says there’s nothing new in contract extension talks as he gets ready for a career-defining season.
