This is unreal.
Obviously getting way ahead of anything here, but even the notion that it’s NOT a nothingburger and we could potentially have no coach or GM before the season even starts is peak CBJ dysfunction.
This is honestly so frustrating.
If this turns out to be nothing more than awkward boomer ineptness with tech, there needs to be a massive pushback exposing Biz and Spittin’ Chiclets for embellishment.
If it does turn out there was some malice, or manipulation then of course Babs has to go, and potentially our FO with him.
Would be devastating to derail a potentially positive season all because of some stupid shit like this.
My take on this is a broken game of telephone is how the info got to Biz in the first place. The intention of Babs, I think, is pure, but the execution leaves a bit to be desired. Ultimately all he did was say “here’s my family, would you mind telling/showing me yours?” But the verbiage might’ve been off. Any icebreaker can make someone uncomfortable. I think NHLPA is doing their due diligence with this, given the gross miss of Kyle Beach and other events in the past.
I am really, REALLY hoping that there wasn’t anything abusive through this. Not because I like Babcock, but it would make us look like a bunch of incompetent morons. Everyone would have to get the axe, except for maybe the assistant coaches who had no say here.
Bottom line .. WTF are we becoming as a society . Everything should be judged on intent , and not thru the filter of looking and scrutinizing someone’s actions to assume ill intent .

Whether this was true or not is basically irrelevant at this point. The entire situation paints an extremely clear picture of just how very *not worth it* Babcock is.
He’s already an active, massive distraction and we haven’t even really seen his 20 year old coaching philosophy yet.
Something might happen. I’m not saying it will or that it’s likely. It could.

I’m just hoping and praying that this situation is blown out of proportion and it gets the guys with a “Ohio against the world” mentality for the upcoming year. This will either destroy us before the season starts, or it will make a force to be reckon with
Best case scenario in my eyes is both Babcock and Biz get fired.
