  1. Here to say GLG ! Can’t wait to hear your takes guys ! Will be an exciting year ahead ❤ missed my team a lot 😅

  2. I’m still not satisfied with the Leafs Defence and worried if this is the group we’re going in with. I love the moves up front and Goaltending is about the same and of course looking forward to another season with you guys The Leafs Convo. Thanks

  3. Great to see you guy's back. I'm looking forward to another season of the convo.

  4. Great to have you back guys. I will have to respectfully disagree with the bunting loss . Bertuzzi + Domi each are better then bunting and we got both. Also if we kept bunting where was he going to play? Bertuzzi domi and knies we have so it didn’t make sense to keep him

  5. Martin Jones had a very impressive year with Seattle last season 27 wins and 13 losses with 3 shutout and has a big frame 6’4’k and disagree with Mike and I could see him making the Leafs roster as they should start the season with all 3 goalies because they will lose any goalie they try to waive. I still think a big trade is coming to make this D much better and hopefully TJ Brodie is part of the deal as he doesn’t hit anyone and doesn’t score and is overrated and Nylander will be traded. Norman sounds like you having issues with you mic. Need to get it fixed buddy.

  6. in what way can you assess samsonov in the playoffs positively? He was bang on average. He let in one weak goal a game. Off the top of my head, the short side goal from a bad angle off the TB rookie nobody knows and the flopping about into the FLA forward for no reason goal. No. not good.

  7. Why YEAR AFTER YEAR is ANYONE the LEAST bit optimistic about the core 4. You can tell Mike wants to say it straight out, you can't win with 4 overpaid underachievers.

And bless Reilly but 7.5 for 6 more years? that's insanity. and he can't even play the pp?

  8. Bunting, ROR, Acciari, Schenn out
Domi, Bertuzzi, Reaves, klingberg in (kling can't play D, Reaves can't play hockey)
I don't see that this team is any better or grittier this year.

  9. Call a spade a spade. Dubas wanted the Pittsburgh job. He had the job before the "drama" played out with the Buds.

  10. Welcome back. Barring significant injury, this club makes the post-season again. What they will look like roster-wise is unknown at this point. Very curious to see how the changes already made will impact how the team plays. Personally, I'm optimistic & hopeful that guys on 1 year 'prove it' contracts will be at the top of the motivation scale & will be productive. Tree thinks this model will have more jam & he thinks the fact that the star players have 'skinned their knees' in the playoffs, means they will take another step forward to go deep in the post-season. We'll see.

  11. Great to see you back boys. Are you ready Steve, uh huh, Andy, yeah, Mick, okay, alright fellas, let's go…heh

    Bunting: Asking for too much

Matthews: Treliving did a good job, considering

Nylander: Might be a rental as he's a 40 goal scorer.

Doan: Nice touch. He hasn't been out of the game all that long and should be an excellent advisor.

Treliving was in tough. Dubas left this team, especially contract wise, in a shambles.

The fact he got Matthews signed and announced mid summer will greatly lesson drama come regular season. He also couldn't trade Nylander, he'd be robbed. Saying this, I wonder what his plan is with him because he definitly has one.

Stability was the name of the game. Treliving attempted to address some holes while realizing he couldn't/didn't have time to tweak the team in his image. Thankfully, he set himself up next off season to do just that.

I'm worried the rising cap will just be eaten up by the core, ie Marner's new contract in two years and running things back will be more of the same. Mind you, Tavares comes off the books around the same time, so there's always that.

I fully expect by this time next year Treliving will have the D he'll go into battle with. Heck, maybe there's a chance he can work towards that this season?

Was there a better coach for this team this off season? Doubtful, so it makes sense to offer Keefe a short contract as not to be a lame duck coach.

Anyway, you guys said much the same thing, so happy you are back again for another season.

    GLG!
