Ottawa is reported to be in a tight spot with their 2019 draft pick Shane Pinto. Pinto had [20g 15a](https://youtu.be/NiJkmkgbAhc?si=nmKVt2etzbLyde2U) in 82 games as a rookie but is behind two great centers. He’s finished his ELC and Ottawa doesn’t have room for a Byram-level bridge deal.
To my eye, he has a really snappy shot, even off balance, and a great sense for finding soft spots on the ice. I wasn’t impressed by his skating, but at 3:45 he gives Girard, Byram, and Newhook trouble so maybe he just looks slower than he is.
We’d have to send some real assets back but I think the value of a young threat behind MacKinnon, with our corps of wingers, is huge.

I really don’t think he does, we can’t keep him long term when he needs a raise, we can’t afford to trade prospects for a developing player, we can’t afford to trade any of our D core because injuries are a concern.
I don’t think the avs need to make any major moves unless it looks like Landy is headed towards retirement.
Assets? Now that’s a word I have not heard in a long time.
He’s young, understands the game really well, and could grow into a 2C role pretty quickly. I watched him at North Dakota and he was usually the best player on the ice by a wide margin. The problem is of course the money and for that reason, the Avs are out.
We likely don’t have the assets to get him, and definitely not the cap space. If this came up a few months ago, it might’ve been a possibility, but at the point the roster, outside of a potential backup goalie, is pretty much set.
We don’t have assets Ottawa will want, unless you’re suggesting trading Bo for him, which is a hard no from me.
He absolutely does if we had the assets to give up. Which we don’t.
