Grading VGK’s offseason moves, who is the VGK’s most underrated player, Peyton Krebs and more!

Tony and Chris breakdown the Vegas Golden Knights individual coaching and roster acquisitions. How do the acquisitions of Bruce Cassidy and Phil Kessel score? What about the salary dump of Max Pacioretty and having to add Dylan Coghlan to the deal just so the Carolina Hurricanes would eat the contract? Has VGK done enough to solidify the core of the Henderson Silver Knights? Peyton Krebs was the key piece of the Jack Eichel / Alex Tuch deal. How has Krebs done since leaving the VGK and will he become an elite player for the Buffalo Sabres?

  1. Well with Cassidy Vegas Becomes Partridge Family with me expecting Eichel to be Donny Bonaduche ending up disaster. I'll be surprised if he lasts a full season way they are clueless when problem is GM. Krebs didn't think much of that pick when he couldn't even walk to the podium literally hehe. Knights rely on 3 stars sinking 30M into 3 players who injury prone at best or not producing up to par :). Kessell will be lucky to score 20 points much less 20 goals as a reason nobody wanted him in trade. If he can't score on a bad team trailing 3 to 5 goals in a game how can he on a decent one? Really did not like losing Coghlan who was vital last year with Whitecloud or other injuries as RHD. Max would have been on LTIR heh. Stastny is better player with an offer from vastly better team in CArolina to win Cup. Phil is a SAndbagger so hard to get injured when softer than Byfield ;). Knights will make a move middle of year for another Goalie probably. Even Avalanche had 2 Goalies win 6 or more Games for Cup. Penguins I don't think Matt Murray won 16 games in any of those Back to Back Cups. Need somebody besides Logan Thompson who can start Post Season games or 40 to 50. EVen Kings both goalies are expected to play around 40ish games. I like the Plaid Irish Knights Hat. VArlamov lets in really bad goals heh. VEgas can Claim a Goalie off Waivers as even Jacob Maarkstrom was on there before his big years. Sharks I think have 3 Goalies so Reimer or Hill. They can get Hamburgler ;). I'd Grade Vegas C- Below Average as team is worse after Eichel than before. Last year under rated was Coghlin so now Stephenson or Whitecloud or Kolesar or somebody like Hague :). I don't know Bruins well enough to guess his line combos. YOur proposed first line would get devastated badly :). Stone not getting 10M to play on 2nd line so him with Eichel will be the top probably with Stephenson to cover them. Chandler basically led team in scoring most season so hard to pick him hehe. Tuch was a really good player who hurt to lose even NOsek they ditched hehe. EVen Gabe Vilardi was projected to be Top 5 or Clarke for LA :).

If Jack Eichel continues to never make Post Season then it don't matter how many points he produces. They were wrong to trade for him in the first place he already got rid of HC without a full year is injury prone. Somebody his age having serious neck operation that was never done before is not who I'd invest 10M into. Peyton will score 20 to 30 goals probably in Buffalo so eh. Who they draft will probably really decide how well it works out overall. They got a better return than dumping 7M Max salary for an injured player nobody else wanted. Kings gave up a lot of Fiala who had no leverage so a bad GM is part of issue besides alienating all the other NHL GMs. Hence Tampa needs to shed salary they get a nice deal while Knights will get fleeced until replace regime.

  2. Vegas adds Hill. No surprise to me. Clearly a surprise to you guys. McCrimmon ALWAYS intended to add another goalie after Lehner went down. Why did he say Vegas would go with LT and Laurent B. ? To not show his cards to other GM's. That's what smart GM's do. By doing this he drove down the price on Hill from SJ who had one too many goalies. Always throwing shade at McCrimmon. WRONG, WRONG, WRONG! He's one of the best GM's in hockey. Don't think so? Kessel ($1.5 mil) will play more games and score more points this next season than either Dadonov ($5 mil) and Pac ($7 mil) while saving $10.5 million dollars. The guy's a genius. You think he's stupid and doesn't know where the holes are. Certainly he knows where the holes are. Why is he gonna scream about it in the Press and drive up the cost? You guys need to wake up. There isn't a day that goes by that I am not thankful McCrimmon 's running the Team and not Cordasco and the clowns at Sin Bin. Tony – knock off the cheap shots at McCrimmon. They are immature and unbecoming. His eye brows? You should look in the mirror before you throw stones at another man. His rotary phone? Are you so dim that you do not realize smartphones have multiple ring-tones including the rotary tone? Please, Tony. Knock off the cheap shots to McCrimmon. You are making yourself embarrassing with this silliness. Grow up and stop slandering men who are accomplished.

  3. Tony, Tony, Tony. You think that Rondbjerg receives an annual salary of $2.3 mil from McCrimmon and VGK's? When you say things like this, you show your ignorance as a reporter. Anyone with any knowledge of the game knows that a non-roster, AHL youngster doesn't make $2.3 mil per season. Your partner bailed you out by correcting your error on air. This is just like you saying Nic Hague will resort to arbitration ……….. and as we all know, Hague is not eligible for arbitration. I listen to you and think, "This guy is reporting on the VKG and seems to be incompetent." Just like you keep pushing that Kelly McCrimmon is incompentent. Tony – does it hurt when someone calls you out as incompetent and picks apart your mistakes? I bet this hurts you. Well, I bet the constant slander you say about Mr. Crimmon hurts him and his family too. One thing I do know. Mr. Crimmon is a gentleman. He has never publically slandered another man – like the way you do. Here's some good advice – start acting like a gentleman. Put an end to your cheap, childish shots at Mr. McCrimmon. Your antics are embarrassing and the podcast will be much better when you stop talking and let Chris carry the show.

  4. Wasn't Krebs injury a cut Achilles? I tell that story about Krebs broken jaw / shot all the time, lol. So crazy. Enjoyed the show, as usual. I am really looking forward to training camp and seeing how the lines shake out.
