PENTICTON YOUNG STARS | Winnipeg Jets vs. Vancouver Canucks

I absolutely admire Chad Lucias’ positional Game. Keep your eyes peeled on #51. To the average fan it might seem unremarkable, but to an astute Winnipeg observer (such as my pretentious has-been beerleaguer self) that shift from 2:07:36-2:09:00 is something to admire hockey IQ wise. And again at 2:22:10. Then again at 2:28:05 on a terrible late shift change by Lambert (47).

Not only does Chad Lucius seem to be everywhere all at once while on Defence, but he has a real knack for being at the right places at the right times on Offence. It reminds me of Lowry.

Weirdly enough, the rare times that he looks out of position, its almost as if he’s playing 4D chess with teammates by forcing them into the right position with his aggressive play on the forecheck, but he does it in a manner that doesn’t compromise the structural integrity of the defensive systems. This is likely attributable to his experience within the org’s systems, which speaks for this teams development staff, but 51s play on and off the puck is absolutely commendable to say the least.

I used to jokingly hate guys on my team that just happened to be at the right place at the right time, but now i realize its a real talent/skill..

The Jets could use a guy like that on the 3rd or 4th line, even the Pk.
