Leafs have a “fighting” chance at the Stanley Cup, would you say?

Ryan Reaves, Tyler Bertuzzi and Max Domi add some missing grit ….[https://www.thestar.com/sports/leafs/new-arrivals-hope-to-give-the-maple-leafs-a-fighting-chance-at-the-stanley-cup/article\_90a81a31-8b7e-5f4e-af41-cdd50413bb29.html](https://www.thestar.com/sports/leafs/new-arrivals-hope-to-give-the-maple-leafs-a-fighting-chance-at-the-stanley-cup/article_90a81a31-8b7e-5f4e-af41-cdd50413bb29.html)

  1. You either love old school hockey and the idea of truculence and grit or you’re negative on this sub these days

    Here’s what I’ll say.

The Leafs are imo on the same tier as or better than all the other teams in the league.

There isn’t a single team I’d say is clear-cut better than us, a couple you could argue for like the Oilers, Avs, or Canes, but nobody who is irrefutably a better hockey team.

I dunno. It’s exhausting personally to always be upset when they don’t win a cup when 31/32 teams also don’t. Winning is hard, especially when the playoffs are a crapshoot.

Maybe it’s the grind of adult life or having kids but I’m just going to enjoy the ride of the regular season and all our star players.

domi and Bertuzzi are more pests than muscle, but they’ll help. I think knies on the other hand is actually muscle when he figures himself out a little more

You can tell a lot of Toronto fans don’t really watch hockey outside of the Leafs, including whoever wrote the article.

Max Domi is a play maker before anything else, he’s a skilled player, not a fighter. If people expect Tie Jr they are going to be excited.

Both Max and Bertuzzi do have some grit, they have a handfull of actual fights over their career. We are just so used to a group of forwards with literally zero fights that someone who isn’t scared to mix it up from time to time is seen as a “tough guy”
