Sure, it may have brought them closer as a team, but they also probably have less trust for the FO who are making decisions that directly affect them as employees and that’s not a great place to be as an organization.

To everyone thinking that this has caused a rift in the locker room, Babcock was barely here to have a cup of coffee with each player.

No player fell so in love with him through 2 or 3 meetings that they will be upset with another player on their team who had a “awful to awkward” meeting with him. I could understand if you argued that some veterans are so focused on winning that they felt they ‘needed’ a coach like him, but even that I find very hard to believe.

Additionally, this team has so little to no drama between the players. Most seem to get along with each other, and just look at Marchenko light up the room in the darkest of years. Hoping for the best results in the standings, but all else failing, this team will stick together.

    Go Jackets!

Awe! Trauma bonding. Like boot camp

  4. Yeah. Don’t buy it.

Indications are that some of the players were thrilled about Babcock being here, and others were going to be very uncomfortable with it. The ones who were looking forward to it are going to feel like they’ve been deprived of the opportunity.

It may not amount to much now, but when things start going south, that’s going to bubble up.
