[Mathewson] The Ducks are being choosy with Zegras? They want to break it? I heard there’s a team looking that way and it’s the Buffalo Sabres. The Sabers have to make the playoffs this year and you solve your problem by bringing Zegras,” the journalist told JiC.

I want to love this but our problems are depth and goaltending. This solves nothing.

The Ducks are not giving up their best player because of contract negotiations not going exactly as planned.

I dont have much interest in Zegras. We already have players similar to him either on the team or in the pipeline playstyle wise, and I’m not willing to part with the necessary assets for someone who would end up playing 3C and you’d still have to sign anyways.

Zegras would be one of my least favorite additions in the league. Not only because of the price, but that last thing this team needs is an offensive winger that can’t play defense. That, and I get the feeling his attitude sucks ass in the locker room. Everyone knows the classic “hockey bro” and Zegras is the epitome.

On the one hand, scoring 8 goals per game doesn’t solve our defense or goaltending

On the other hand…… maybe it does

Sorry, but who the hell is this guy? Is he just a fan who can’t spell Sabres right?

Zegras is not the move this team needs to make. Not like they are making moves until the TDL anyways….

    Can’t even spell ‘Sabres’ correctly.

    Click whoring.

Aside from the random click bait, Z is not a piece that really fixes anything other than “ooh shiny new thing”. Now if they said they were trying to snag Pinto….

    I’m ambivalent about this.

On the one hand, he’s the same type of player we have with the likes of Olofsson. Sure he can score but his defense isn’t great. He’s also shown to be quite the dickhead in the Anaheim locker room.

On the other, his creativity and offensive skills are some of the best around. He’s pretty tenacious even if his defense isn’t all that good. Part of his attitude problem might be related to the Ducks woes and their lack of a very cohesive locker room, and the strong leadership group we have here could help him.

But, what do we give up? Someone like him is going to have Anaheim wanting Savoie, Benson, or Kulich, maybe even Quinn or Peterka, and I don’t want to make that trade.

I’d love to add insert amazing player here but if we are I’d much prefer a goalie I won’t lie.

I like Zegras as a player a lot, super talented and entertaining, but there is a reason we drafted cozens instead of him.

This team was dead last in hits, we already have a ton of guys in the system like zegras, and need more guys like Cozey.

This is not happening, but anyone who says to not add an offensive talent like this is foolish. Since when is having too much talent a problem??

This really makes no sense considering how many top prospects knocking on the door.. We need a legit top four D-man and a above average experienced starter to back up Levi in net.
