I'd like to take this opportunity to say I was wholly and entirely wrong about Torts and his impact on the organization. he was absolutely the right hire and the right leader for where we are as a franchise. he's bringing in the right mentality. he's tough on guys, but apparently this franchise needed someone like that because they've all had their heads up their asses for the last two decades or so. I'm sorry John, I was wrong to question your hiring and I'm glad to be eating crow
"Coach , can you maybe elaborate on why we still don't have a mic in here?" Torts: "No clue…We don't have all the answers……haven't even seen the mic on or off the ice…so they shouldn't overthink it"
People who readily tear down John Tortorella and wish he was gone, are the same ones who say that Tort's only wants to activate veteran players on the roster. They're all wrong. John Tortorella has been activating the younger players since arriving last season. The fact that he benched a veteran defence man for the final five games of the season is an indication that he only wants to see the future players for this franchise. What Coach Tortorella is giving us is something the previous coaches did not, he's giving us a hopeful future. He is also being helped by the excellent work that Lappy is doing as head coach of Lehigh Valley. I wish all of the Flyers fans could get behind Tort's. He has said it many times over, he has ALWAYS wanted to coach the Flyers for the Flyers fans. Let's give him some support, as well as getting behind these kids!
