As for Elias Pettersson… not reported the same way in Sweden… Perhaps the Canucks fans should read some Swedish interviews for nuance? Not by EP40 necessarily… but former NHL players… 😉
As it seems based in interviews in Sweden. It looks like this:
1. Pettersson goes 80-90% this season (trying to avoid injury (obviously – anything else would be stupid.))
2. Takes arbitration… and coasts… (WHILE negotiation with teams for his pending UFA…)
3. He walks out of Vancouver with pockets full of money into a a MEGA contract wherever he wants to go.
EP40 is not stupid… Vancouver can't Bure anyone any longer.
If the Canucks go 2 and 8 for the first 10 games … Pettersen better buy some industrial strength earplugs.

It really appears that the Devils are giving Holtz every chance to step up and earn top 6 minutes next to Hischier and Timo Meier. Dawson Mercer might have something to say about it however. Also looking like Hughes, Bratt, Toffoli may be the other line. All that is subject to change as Ruff is certainly one to swap lines around situationally or depending on who is hot.

For the most part, we like Bettman here in Ottawa. He is heavily resistant to ever moving the team from Ottawa. Can't ask for much more from the guy, so I'd applaud for him.

Torts trying to get the conditioning in before the season. Its hard to condition anything once the season begins. Obviously players will get better throughout the season but its mostly a focus on recovery time between games. I got my Flyers jersey Shannon, a Lindros one! I'll bring it to the next meetup.
Weren't the Canucks retooling around Pettersson? Maybe if he leaves they'll be forced to look at the rebuilding question again
