Hockey ankle breakers are hilarious because sometimes it's legitimately a fancy move by the player with the puck and other times it's just someone falling for no reason.
3:20 DMac's just hits different the more you see it. He travelled all the way to Sweden and back just to work on his handles, and the outcome was literally this. It's especially shocking because he had never scored a game winner before, considering he didn't really score often. It was also the playoffs, so it was an extremely valuable goal, and it was major support for the Wings to win the cup in 1997. Also, for it's time, it was a HUGE deal that was ahead of it's time, and even though it's a common deke now, in the 90's-00's, that required the some of the BEST skills in the league.

I've done this video a while back, but i decided to clean it up and add some more clips to it! Hope you guys enjoyed it!
2nd clip Datsyuk turned the Wings' color commentator into Krusty the Clown
Welcome to the Mat Barzal Show
Fellow Avs fans, who has more ankle breaks, Nate or Cale?
NHL game over moments would be sick
It’s funny how MacKinnon destroyed getslafs ankles twice this video
uhhhh the guy hit some bad ice and that sucks. not exactly a whirlwind move. My bet his he knew the bad ice was there though. Wow, what a jerk
Barzal break peoples ankles like it’s nothing game in and game out
How is McDavid on Reilly not in here?!
All these guys are amazing… Mackinnon is my favorite. But all of these dudes are just fantastic
Pettersson ankle broke himself as well 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
Pettersson breaking ankles than breaking his own
Nobody:
Me:BARZAL
Thanks for the love on my video, I hope you saw my reply! You’re the king of Hockey Comps!
4:37 If I was Tim Thomas I would’ve skated straight to the bench and asked the coach to replace me after that goal..
Video idea: NHL controller disconnected: players just getting lost or completely giving up on plays
Surprised Getzlaf still has his ankles 🤷🏻♂️
The Getzlaf ones aren’t even fair. This video proves more that he can’t skate than he is getting lit up lol
feel bad for Barzal, feel like he would be a 100 point guy on most other teams, but the Islanders structure makes him more of a 60-65 point guy
1:49 that "did he ever" is the funniest thing in this video lmfao just so subtle
Barzal is a menace💀
Good LORD look at my boy Barzal. 5 clips in a row of breaking ankles. That's why he's my favorite Isles player!
Makar breaking ankles like its an art.
My fav of this past season was when Dahlin made Weegar eat the boards.
I dont understant why there arent many mcdavid
Im shitfaced and came here for entertainment
Girard is insane
The fact Nathan mackinnon and cale makar are on the same team makes me so happy as a lifelong Avs fan. 😂😂

1:49 How much I miss it Thank you RJ
4:23 like a cartoon that reverse. Hardly looks real. Incredible the lower body strength of hockey players.
This could be a whole video of Mcdavid
hockey ankle breakers > basketball ankle breakers
I love how half of these were players trying to stop and fell while trying to stay on his man
music at 4:17 to 4:37?
i dont watch NHL but from this ima take a guess n say McKinnon is like the Kyrie of NHL he is shifty
Datsyuk putting Couture on skates!
yeah it was good but i could probably do a nastier ankle breaker than one of these
I love the fan reaction from, " can't believe he broke his "f" ankle " that was unexpected
5:50 my brother took that video! @hawk-eytown

I’ve broken ankles on accident I was going to pass but fell got up and went in between the legs of the defender then went backhand forehand and scored
5:18 the in-arena music is perfect lol
