Watch as Brayden Point scores a great goal for the Lightning, while at the same time Torey Krug and Tyler Johnson drop the gloves for a spirited fight.
even though i expect it, it's still a bit surprising to see bruins fans be completely blind/biased. Krug was obviously holding onto Johnson's stick which was why Johnson shoved him in the first place. and then to say Krug is classy and cuz he didnt punch Johnson while on top of him is so dumb. there are actual classy fighters who make sure the opponent's head doesn't slam on the ice no matter how much they want to kill the other person. meanwhile Krug keeps leaning on top of him after he takes him down.
This kind've stuff would be avoided if players stayed on their feet and went toe to toe, and not just try to wrestle the other guy to the ice as quickly as possible.
I don't think "plays" like these will favor Krug's chances of staying in Boston, starting a fight while your opp. has a breakaway on the otherside of the ice and you're a D-man… Playing like he's been the last few games and he's gonna have to take a big pay-cut negotiating his next contract…
Great officiating tbf and I don’t say that often. Can’t be blowing whistles for every push and shove match. The gloves came off just as Point was putting it in the net and you can see the whistle being blown seconds after.
In terms of separate penalties well I don’t know about how they fell to the ice but surely throwing the opponents stick away is a penalty right? So Krug should have got 2 even if Johnson got 2 for the tackle.

Krug is a jerk later that game he shot the puck at the linesman and got ejected. Great to see how he handless losing.
