Wish the best for Hunt and hope its not a major injury but holy fuck has he looked sleepy and unaware through training camp so far. For supposedly being the defenseman closest to the NHL he has not looked it at all.
Absolutely love this quote from Evason: “We didn’t like the hit. I guess it’s a coincidental but we think he (Kero) probably could have maybe slid out of the way. He (Hunt) was a pretty vulnerable guy. It’s unfortunate for a young guy.”
“probably could have maybe” gives the game away lol (as did his live reaction). Hunt had his head turned not looking where he was going for a looong time before getting rocked. I’m sorry but, you’re playing in an NHL arena, against NHL players… you cant be puck watching like that.
He’s a big body and he’s supposed to be a decent skater (tho havent seen much of it tbh) but my main concern with this guy is that he might not be aware or smart (for lack of a better word) enough to be an NHL defenseman. *Maybe* a journeyman 3rd pair guy but he’d struggle to fill Jon Merrill’s shoes right now, imo.
