If you could get Zegras for the 2024 and 2025 first round picks I would do it. Draft picks are magic beans and Zegras has already been better than a point a game player – it is a long time since Montreal had one of those.
Besides by the 2025 draft I expect our first round pick to be the 32nd.

um………and why would the quacks do this deal? They're in the middle of a rebuild. Why would they want to lose a key piece of that rebuild just to get more picks?
The Ducks would obviously trade an upcoming fan favorites in Trevor Zegras. Obviously that will happen, sure, why not?

The price for Zegras will be too high. Expect to pay 2 1st rounds, Dach or Slaf + another top end prospect like (Reinbacher or Harris) for Zegras.

I have no problem at all giving up Mailloux for Zegras. Nor do I have a problem with the 2024 pick. It's a kinda weak draft. Zegras is a monster.

It's expendable, not expandable, but Id love to have Zegras, but the Habs will never go for Zegras, we will never have a flashy player like that. Habs management seems to hate flashy players. PK was probably the last one we had, and look what happened to him.

First, just because ANA is playing hard ball does not mean they plan to move Zegras. He’s their cornerstone.🙄
Second, Zegras is a Centre and MTL is already flush at that position.👍🏽

Not for any price, we can trade for 1st or one of (Dvorak, Gallagher, Monahan, Barron, Beck).
Never trade Guhle, Hutson. Guhle > Zegras, Hutson > Zegras.
Zegras would imo, be a great fit. Some people mistake his arrogance for flash. hate to say this as it's a very touchy subject, but We would need to give up a very solid package. 5 draft picks as per hostile rfa bid? no…. Slafkovky+.. Love the kid, but it will take him a few years to maybe, get to full potential. I honestly, don't like the fact that his reaction time is very slow that will likely result in very few goals scored from one timers, net scrambles etc… down the road.. He might overcome these issues, maybe, But as is, I don't see him as anywhere near an elite goal scorer. The traits just aren't there. And as for the power part, I haven't seen him push anyone around per say yet. Having said that, It would give us the chance to shed some bad salary in the process ( Armia?) The + would obviously be added draft picks and prospects, but Slaf would certainly cover a good chunk of the asking price, and I see Zegras as a much better fit, that could possibly help shorten the rebuild schedule a little.
