The San Jose Sharks lost to the Anaheim Ducks in the preseason 4-2 again. This time, they dominated most aspects of the game except the scoreboard. First, we have to start with the terrible hit by Alex Killorn on Filip Zadina and the events that led up to it. Next, despite the Barracuda-filled roster, the Sharks were the dominant team in this game, controlling the pace of play, but they couldn’t finish. Next, examine the analytics and what they said about the game and how each line performed, plus Georgi Romanov’s debut was rough. Finally, why, despite no Erik Karlsson and Timo Meier, there are signs that this power play could be better this year.

The Duck goalie was good, but many of the shots weren’t difficult. And I don’t recall many 2nd or 3rd opportunities from the Sharks. It’s basically an NHL goalie being good against AHL players.
Also for Thrun, I want to bring up a distinction that he was good in the offensive zone on the pp. But a lot of his breakouts didn’t seem so good. Not sure if you noticed?
Dostal is a stud. Romanov showed glimpses of what he could be but also showed how raw he is as a prospect.
This preseason already feels like it's how the whole season will go, everything works one game, falls apart the next, and then looks good but nothing goes right
