In this edition of Locked on Capitals Dan talks about the Capitals second preseason game against the Red Wings. I know it’s only the preseason, but this is a must watch game. Alex Ovechkin-Nicklas Backstrom-Ivan Miroshnichenko will be skating on the top line together. If this works could we see it in the regular season? Other players to keep an eye on are: Connor McMichael, Joe Snively, Andrew Cristall for the forwards and on defense: Alex Alexeyev, Vincent Iorio and Lucas Johansen. Dan also has an update on Joel Edmundson He broke his hand in a scrimmage at training camp Sunday, and Tuesday’s surgery was to stabilize the fracture, per NHL.com. He will be out 4-6 weeks

Super excited for tonight! Go Caps! Lucas Johansen is the 6th defensemen to replace Edmondson for me. Alexeyev has more upside offensively but for a bottom pairing role, Johansen is the man for the job. I am not so sure for Miro though. He may be very skilled but the North American style of play is way different than the one in Russia. And don't sleep on Haman-Aktell, he is a wild card. Love the show Dan! Keep it up!
