  1. As a shraks fan I totally agree they will be bottom of the barrel this year although i am praying the young guys get more thab 20 ganes this season

  2. From a neutral perspective it doesn’t seem like Grier has done a great job so far. With the exception of smith I’m not seeing any prospects to get overly excited about and the Karlsson and Meier trade returns seemed pretty meh. Curious how sharks fans feel?

  3. Die hard sharks fan here almost 25 years, definitely agree, we will finish near the bottom, there are a few teams such as Blackhawks, Ducks, Coyotes, which I believe will be the bottom 3. For sure it's new territory for us not to be competitive after all those years. Definitely hurts we didn't win one with the core we had. Doug Wilson, I have always said was the problem, he had no vision for a all around team, we were always top heavy and that was the problem every playoff run. When the top guys were coming empty, we didn't have a strong supporting cast to steal a game or two. We always had musical chairs with the bottom 6 forwards and bottom 2 D-men. DW was consistently signing aging vets and we were dressing fringe NHLers on the 4th line. DW financially screwed the team. He was giving out long term NTC contracts like candy on Halloween. The worst of all, was pursuing Karlsson. We gave up Josh Norris and a 1st rounder which resulted to be Tim Stützle. Then, DW's crush for Karlsson became evident as he handed him the worst contract in NHL history (Next to Rick Dipietro). Soon as that contract was signed, I knew it the beginning of demolition in San Jose. We already had way too many long term deals on the books. I don't know how DW thought he could keep a competitve team on the ice & Karlsson was a dummy for being greedy and selfish, he didn't deserve to be the 4th highest paid player in the league & highest paid in Sharks franchise history. Because of that contract and being financially handicapped, DW let our beloved Captain Joe Pavelski walk for nothing. All because DW didn't offer an additional 3rd year – Then Pavs takes Dallas to the cup finals and he's been puttin up numbers still into year 3 with Dallas. Good job DW. Then the domino's fell and majority of our core was traded for peanuts. DW fakes an illness so he can abandon the sinking ship, now all of the sudden he is back with his boy toy in Pittsburgh. I knew there was no health concern, he just wanted out of San Jose. Grier took the worst job a GM could take, in any sport, because of DW inability to properly assess the books. Timo Meier, that's a guy we drafted and should have been built around, but because of DW, we couldn't afford Timo. It was a shame to see him traded. Karlsson being traded, was the best thing that happened for us since he arrived. He was the problem, filled with greed and selfishness. Who is happy about winning an individual award while being on a team with the least amount of wins? Erik Karlsson. Grier did a GREAT job with that trade, retaining only $1.5m. When the rumors were swirling, I was saying $2m should be max. Others said $4-$5m, which is absurd. At that point, you just keep him. Whole point of trading him is to free up the cap. I like the assets we got back, Rutta, Granlund, short terms deals, we're gonna suck so it's all good, they can stack up numbers and hopefully we trade them for draft picks at the deadline. Same with Hoffman & Duclair. Zadina is a nice signing. Our forwards are better this season than last season. I would trade away Couture to a team like Boston for a couple picks, let him finish out his career with a contender, he is 33, Sharks aren't going to be playoff team for the remaining 4 years of his contract. Feel bad for him because he was there when we were riding high and now he is there at the bottom of the ocean. Hertl as well, same thing, I'd trade him out, another ridiculous DW contract. Vlasic, next to Karlsson as terrible contract, unfortunately I don't see any other team willing to take him because he is not a skilled NHL d-man anymore and his contract is absurd. So I guess we will just have to ride it out with Vlasic and he can be a mentor for the young guys. Honestly, defensively, we will be a better team as well because we won't have EK out there always leaving one man back and it's an odd man rush the other way. Our d-men this year will be more defensive minded. Thank God EK is gone, that was the best news all off-season. At least now, we can jumpstart our rebuild. We have some prospects in the pipeline I'm excited for. Whit is definitely right, our barn used to be rocking hard every game, sold out, sometimes ticket prices were ridiculous. Now, they can't even give away tickets for free. You can get a nosebleed ticket and go sit few rows up from the ice if you wanted to. That's how empty the rink is these days. It's definitely a trip to see the flip in the Sharks organization and at the Shark Tank. If you guys need local coverage with the Sharks, hit me up, I'm your guy.

  4. No matter how bad this team is, I’ll never stop loving them. C’mon baby LETS GO SHARKS!! this year is gonna be painful

  5. This is where true sharks fans show their colors, playoffs or no playoffs I'm always going to bleed teal and support the shit out of this team. GO SHARKS!
