We’re taking a look at Edmonton Oilers right shot defensemen, Evan Bouchard. Bouchard could potentially be a top 10 defenseman in the following years to come. I thinke h can crack 70 pts a few times in the next ten years, at least 60-70.
He will be lucky to be a top pairing defender. See him as a 3 with power play time.
Move the awful Nurse contract, Nurse will be better value moving forward or the Oil won't be able to afford him.

Looking forward to many more Bouch Bombs in years to come. He's still young and needs to work on his defensive reads as well as be more assertive when boxing out. That will come. I hope Holland can sign him to a LT contract this offseason, but with the cap situation, it's looking like a bridge.

Bouchard is not a good d man. Please oilers do not sign him long term. Yes he scored a couple of goals but he is not tough n definitely not a strong defence man. Very poor in defending goalie and half the time lost. Unless someone trained him good or else a waste of money to sign long term. Oh yeah oilers tend to sign long term many players big money but not good.
I don’t watch him a lot but during the playoffs against colorado he was really meh
You are absolutely clueless. You have no issue with his skating? Then you say he has no problems with his game but if you nit pick that it's his D? His skating is horrible and skating is avg. He has potential and love him to but pipe down

Wow. Bias is right. He is a good player offensively, defensively he is average at best. He is a below average skater and is definitely not physical or strong like Weber. He competes but it’s his talent and Vision with the puck that makes this player effective. 60 points is the 60-65 points is the ceiling for this player but he needs to Develop a physical game and make better positioning decisions as he is quite often caught flat footed on the neutral zone and around his own Blue line in transition. Lots to like about this player, but skating will always be an issue with his inefficient stride and edge work. Bomb for a shot and does a great job getting it away quickly and through to the net, has an uncanny ability to use screens to his advantage, would love it if he had the same defensive instincts as offensive as he does tend to get caught watching the puck in his own zone often losing guys who like to get lost in the zone.
With Keith hanging them up, it would be nice for him to take his number 2

I agree. Bouchard I feel is what we could've had in 2014 if we managed to get Ekblad. His physicality has actually been there I'll say. I'll chalk it up to the Kane effect to be honest. He's got some pushback for sure and isn't afraid to to engage in scrums after the whistles either.
Evans obviously gonna be the anchor on the blueline for years to come reaching point totals that could very well surprise you and me. Doesn't hurt to be mentored by Duncan Keith as well.
Im liking Bouchard and I felt Bouchard and Broberg would be 2 big parts if rhe Oilers in the cup. They are rhe future.
The oilers do need some toughness and slight nastieness on the backend. When nurse does it he goes to far. Im.hoping Niemelinen is the big hitter and tough guy we need to round out the right 6 by end of 2023

He’s definitely come a long way and his time in the AHL was well used. Sure he needs to get better defensively and he will.

Great hockey player. Just needs to work on his skating. As it’s the worst part of his game.
He’s also prone to defensive mistakes like bad turnovers in the neutral zone but with time I’m sure that will become less frequent. If he get power play time I see him breaking 55 points next year
Bruh what lol the only thing comparable is his shot, watch Weber play in front of the net and then watch Bouchard and remake this video, Weber is one of the toughest defensive defense man of all time, Bouchard is as soft as it comes, go look at the hit totals in the first 3 seasons, nowhere near Weber lol

When you say he could surpass 70 pts, that make perfect sense. One thing that boost players point count is the Powerplay. A player can have half their point count in the PP which is why they end up getting a ridiculous amount of points.
I looked up Bouchard's number… You won't believe this, Bouchard only made 2 goals and 5 assists (7 points) in the powerplay WITH THE OILERS. However, that means he did a whopping 10 (TEN!!!!) goals in even strength and 25 (TWENTY FIVE!!) assists in even strength. The thing that makes or burn an offensive D is when they struggle in even strength imo and bouch proves he's not afraid of even strength. In a season where he's as efficient in even strength and the PP is much better for him, it wouldn't be surprising he gets close to 70pts.
Compare to Cale Makar with 34 pts in the PP alone last year. That's as much as some good offensive defensemen in their entire season. Let's say Bouch gets a huge PP season et could get ~35 pts even strength + ~30pts in PP which makes it close to 70
TBH he's looking horrible.
