DUI isn't listed because you have to be caught under the influence driving. He can either deny that he was the one driving or that he got wasted/high after he got home so either case has to be proven beyond a reasonable doubt so it is unlikely it gets charged

I know $US70k is a fairly large salary for most people but I'm not sure I'd play a sport professionally for that. If that was AU$70k I definitely wouldn't. Could make as much in my current job and that's barely a livable wage in this country.

I'll admit I struggle with alcohol myself. But my problem isn't drinking regularly. I can go weeks and months without it. My problem is when I start, I physically can not stop until either a, I drink it all or b, I pass out.
It's quite pathetic actually because I can never just enjoy a beer with friends and family.

With the list of charges he faces, yeah. Galchenyuk's carreer, such as it has been, is toast. The way he's bounced around the league, may have been for good reason, if it's any indicator. Hopefully he gets some kind of help. Sad to see people who end up in these situations.

Glad that Zack Sanford got a deal with the Coyotes–I really liked him when the Blues had him, he had flashes of greatness but was very inconsistent, and, now, he's become a bit of a journeyman, but. still, a very capable player.
They cant charge you for DUI until the tox report comes back, i have a pretty good idea what it was but ill keep that to myself until it comes out. He still wont do any time, but they might force him into rehab. Either way i would guess that this is the end of his career

If Galchenyuk refused field sibriety checks and intoxilizer, they would have gotten a warrant for a blood draw and will charge accordingly when the toxicology report comes back. In the interim, refusing the tests automatically gets your driving privileges suspended immediately for at least one year regardless of the toxicology results.
Craig Mactavish killed a woman, served a year in prison, went on to win 4 Stanley cups and played in an All-Star game before becoming a coach.
If he's convicted, Galchenyuk isn't going to serve more than a year. With some rehab, he may come back and play again, depending on if he's still good enough.
