How anyone can question if this is a penalty or not is beyond me. Very dangerous hit, very easy hit to avoid. This notion of losing an edge? Big difference between losing an edge and being pushed off your edge. This is the officiating we've come to expect now though, no weak ass hook, slash to the stick, 2 hand push with your stick cross check; let the real penalties get dealt with in the office of player safety NHL. Elbow, run the goalie, board, knee, just don't get your stick in near the hands.
Lowry is 6'5" and Garland is 5'10". Just a mismatch of strength. I see nothing wrong with that play. You saw that Lowry saw the numbers and didn't go for a hit. I think Garland lost an edge.
It's interesting how people see what they want to see depending on the direction of their bias.. Regardless of the intent, this should have been called. The goon from the goon squad made contact with the wiener from the wiener squad before he went headfirst into the boards. That's a penalty every time.

More and more teams are starting to dislike the jets so, each and every game now. They should probably start watching their backs on the ice.

A lot of dangerous hits by the Jets are being ignored by officials. Last Toronto Jets game also had lapses in calling penalties against the Jets.
This is the only reason Evander Kane at 50% is interesting to me. We have too many young small guys. Need someone scary for cheap.
