The TSN Hockey panel discusses the Maple Leafs’ choices down the middle of the ice, the play of rookie Fraser Minten potentially earning a spot and William Nylander returning to the wing.
"Has Fraser Minten forced the Maple Leafs hand?" I say no…send him back to junior and let him develop further What he has done is play very well for a 19 year old and found chemistry with another very promising young prospect in 20 year old Matthew Knies. But the Leafs need to think long and hard before burning a year on this promising young player's entry level contract. We have seen this far too many times in the NHL where this decision was bungled and the team does not get full value from a player's ELC because they burned off a year too early.
If ANY team needs Fresh blood on the ice and in the locker rm its the dismal leafs who hardley celebrate after scoring any more ! Maybe they do after cashing those overpaid million + $ salaries !

Kid is good!
He should play over Robertson for sure.
He needs to stay with team. Play with Knies and ty Robertson. Get some youth in team again.
Fraser Minten looks like he can offer something special at 3C.. Nylander fits on the wing
Goaltending is suspect. Definitely the X factor.
Cowan knies minten would be so sick

Nylander is NOT a Center, when is this 'experiment' going to end?
Nylander is definitely a winger. Experiment over.
