For context, they already made matching jackets with custom stitching and it would be a complete pain to get those redone before the season opener.

It is such a silly thing for a rebuilding team to be publicly declaring that it’s 4th line is set in stone, meanwhile two of it’s top forward prospects are battling it out for the final spot + a tweener prospect was waived to make room for this 4th line.
Nick DeSlauriers has zero future with the Flyers. Why risk losing Wade Allison for free on waivers when he could at least get a shot in Deslauriers’ roster spot?
Torts is not the coach to be leading us through a rebuild. He cares more about this kind of stuff instead of what’s best 3 years from now.

If Hathaway can have a solid season on the 4th line I’d trade him at deadline.

My opinion of Deslaurier has done a complete 180 from when he was signed.

Hot take, having this line is actually GOOD for helping the kids develop. Having these guys will give the young kids confidence that they won’t have to always be looking over their shoulders if they go over the line. Lets them play hard and fast and not worry as much about how some vets on the other teams are going to take that.
I could be way wrong on that, but its not impossible that Torts is thinking the same way.

How many teams would regularly dress a player like Deslauriers?
