“Oh shit, the Bruins could get Barzal, Connor, and Kylington here.”

Why did I think beauvillier was at least 30?

Every time I see a post like these, I try to remind people that you are betting on 17-19 year old kids. You don’t know what’s gonna happen to them down the line. You take your shot based on what we know at the moment

At the time, Connor, Boeser are 2 out of 3 picks and even though DeBrusk worked out, it took a while so I’ll put Aho on the 4th line, Bergy and Krecji’s wings, then 3rd till last season.

Both of those teams have had quite a lot of success actually since drafting those players.

Don’t worry, this is not overlooked in Boston and in fact brought up at least once a month. This isn’t even the worst part. Bruins also had the 14th and 15th pick in this draft. DeBrusk is the only NHLer left.

The Stars then picked Roope Hintz in the second round, so not really losing sleep over missing those picks

The Islanders did alright this draft…

“The New York Islanders traded defenseman Griffin Reinhart to the Edmonton Oilers on Friday for the 16th and 33rd picks in the 2015 NHL Draft. The Islanders selected center Mathew Barzal from the Seattle Thunderbirds of the Western Hockey League with the No. 16 pick.

The Islanders, who were not scheduled to pick in the first or second rounds before making the trade, then sent the 33rd and 72nd picks to the Tampa Bay Lightning for the 28th choice. New York selected Anthony Beauvillier, a forward from the Shawinigan Cataractes of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.”

just a reminder of how much of a diamond in the rough Aho was, NHL Central Scouting for 2015 had Gurianov at #7 for EU.

    Aho was #20

Can do this for every single draft ever.

Aho was extremely overlooked by NA scouts while we saw a superstar in Europe

At least the Bruins are still good and competitive.

I find it very hard to critique drafting. 102 players went ahead of gaudreau. 57 before kucherov. 209 before Zetterberg.
