Do Johansen and Colton give the Avalanche a championship caliber forward core?

  1. This forward Core could be a nightmare to play against personally. If everyone is healthy and plays to the expectations we have for them, they have scoring speed and something I've wanted for years. Toughness. A little nasty edge to them with wood and colton. Guys who just want to be a thorn in the side of teams. If everything works well this forward core could be a nightmare to plan for

  2. On RyJo, we're playing with house money. If he excels, awesome. You now have a career (mostly lower end) 1C as your 2C at 4 mil per for 1 more year. If it doesn't work out, that contract will not be very hard to move and could even be included as part of a package to get an upgrade at the position (looking at you calgary, hoping for a collapse… sorry)

  3. New shirt idea: Moose on a rocket ship with a space helmet on (maybe the moose antlers stick out the side), heading for space.. maybe holding an Avs flag… the rocket ship is the stanley cup. Just spitballing here

  4. I think it's easy to forget that once Nichushkin left during the playoffs, the team had only 2 forwards above 200 pounds. (Rantanen and MacKinnon). They were aubsequently pushed around by a bigger and more physical Seattle team.

Johanson and Drouin add much-needed size to the front lines. Then you have MacDermid intent on playing forward give the team even one more option to park a big body in front of the crease to create chaos.

  5. curtis macdermid is one of the most useless players in the league and does nothing for the team. teammates get leveled and hurt from dirty playes while hes quite literally on the ice and he does nothing. he also will barely go and fight anyone if they do anything when hes off the ice. he has no offensive production whatsoever and hurts the team with his lack of playmaking or shot creation, and on defense hes a huge detriment and a liability. i dont know what the hell Lacroix sees in this dude besides the fact that he CAN fight, even though he barely does. he needs to be bought out or cut or whatever. i dont care if hes a good guy or a good locker room present, hes useless on the ice, so it doesnt matter. there are ton of other players that are good guys AND can be a benefit to the team.
