People keep forgetting Chris Macfarland is the Gm now lol
I thought Johansen was going to be a perennial all-star, Olympic team Canada guy after his first few seasons in Columbus. Boy was I wrong! He is perhaps the most overpaid player in the national league; 8 sheets for a 50-60 point guy; Big, slow and lazy. Drouin has also been a massive disappointment, the guy looked like Wayne when he played in Nova Scotia. Give credit to Torts and Stevie Y for selling high on those guys. Maybe they will play well, who knows. The Avs are a good team, but nowhere near what they were during the 2021–2022 season, when they iced arguably the best team of the post-lockout era and won the cup in only 20 games despite receiving the worst goaltending of all the playoff teams. Having said that, the current squad is still good enough to win another cup, and I like the Miles Wood signing.
As an Avs fan, I’ve watched some of their practice and training camp stuff. Looking at Nate HE IS HUNGRY, out first on the ice and out there late into the evening. This is a team that want it. They’ve certainly addressed the depth issues this time round
If they stay healthy, they get that cup back.
Toews isn’t a top 5 D man in the league, the islanders gave him away for pretty much nothing
