Luis Grijalva took advantage of having a handful of world-class runners in his midst and put down a 1:57 last 800 meters during this 3,000m time trial to outlast Drew Hunter to run 7:42 in the 3000 meters. Drew came through 7:45. Jamaine Coleman was third in 7:53 and Nico Young at 8:10.

Seeing Nico young towards the back really puts into perspective how crazy fast these dudes are running
cameraman should've been in the race
I think the camera man came in first with such effort in getting this video perfectly done 🙂
Dude, that starter, needs to be fired
bro, Luis G just broke the American collegiate 3k record lmao.
impressive camera work
only time you'll see Nico in the back of the pack is against pros
My goodness, Grijalva's kick is world class. Can't wait to see the damage he does this next year and in the upcoming! Hunter really made the race though, ballistic effort from him.
alright scratch nico young make it luis G vs Drew hunter Vs the cameraman
Holy crap! Luis is tough!
Someone’s new girlfriend was like “are these professionals?” 😂
camera man is insane 😳

A college student just beat pros?
Sucks us running fans didn’t get a 2020 NCAA XC champs cuz da the homie Luis was gonna slay.
cameraman def deserves a raise
old school racing for nothing like GBTC Bill Rodgers . Cool
The periodic pajama likely work because hexagon bioinformatically grease including a belligerent leo. lonely, energetic turnover
what is that title man
The camera chasing them shows how insanely fast they are running – looks like a whole sprint for almost 8 minutes
I'm 30 250 lbs 6 foot 1 and would out run all these guys
Go louis eres el mejor
Luis grijalva nice Guatemala
Well done Grijalba!..🏃🏻🇬🇹
The camera work was great. If it only had a better windscreen on the mic it would have really been something. Hearing the footsteps of the pack at the beginning is really cool. Don't think I've ever seen a race filmed from an electric field cart. Super cool.
Nico is running with the big boys now. I trained very, very hard as a distance runner in HS, and I ran well because of it. I ran in the state meet as both a junior and senior, but didn't quite place. That told me all I needed to know. I didn't even try for a college track scholarship because I knew that there were many others with more natural ability who would be training seriously at the college level, and I didn't stand a chance of competing against them. So instead of running every day at college, I'd just run to and from classes, and go out on 1 long fun-run alone each weekend. I used the determination I'd honed as a HS runner to hit the books hard. It was the right choice. At some point you have to take a hard look at yourself, and decide what you're best at and pursue that one thing if you want a good future. Whether Nico succeeds or fails as a premier college runner he has already honed the skills that are all he needs for success in a career, determination and discipline.
With that starter, almost everyone got a rolling start!
