  1. By the lack of comments on the video, its easy to see why Byfield doesn't have the same pressure. He plays in LA where King's fans don't care about the team unless its playing well. The Rangers sell out MSG every night and play in a much more demanding sports market where as the Kings were 23rd in attendance last year.

  2. People are so blind. BOTH Lafreniere and Byfield went to teams with vets on the team so they didn't get there top 6 minutes off the jump let alone that effected development compared to guys like Stutzle were he went to a young team in OTT and they let him play top 6 mins no matter how bad they were and let him play his natural position compared to Laf and QB being all over the lineup. LA needs to put Byfield at Center and move PLD or Danault to the wing to get the guy that was advertised. Putting QB at LW is just a set up for failure.

  3. Kings have their young guys work on defense skill more than offense…
I’m not a big fan of Byfield, but I don’t dislike him either …
Kempe is a good example, they developed his defense first… now many years later his a top dog

  4. Byfield has been a good player but the kings play a defense game. He needs to start shooting the puck more. He stated that he would rather pass the puck to Kempe because he scores a lot. His shooting percentage was only at 6 percent last year.

His overall game is solid. This has to be the year for him to step up. We need 50 points out of him this year. He should get that playing on the top line a full season.

  5. Playing in the NHL as a 20 year old while being 15-20 lbs underweight and having 2 sprained wrists is insane. Hopefully there's no more setbacks/excuses this year and he can start to settle in to this league. Think he can realistically hit 60 points this year.

  6. Byfield has been a really solid player ever since they put him on the wing with Kopitar and Kempe and he's showed a lot of potential he makes some elite level passes, wins board/puck battles, and plays good defense the only thing he has issues with is scoring goals he's had a really hard time putting the puck in the net, but hopefully that was because of the wrist issues he had last year cause at the beginning of the year he was scoring some high skill goals in the AHL like between the legs goals, and goals where he deked through the defense

  7. As a Kings fan, I feel Byfield has been disappointing. Fairly anonymous most nights, other than the Vegas game he was fairly poor all preseason too. It isn’t so much his lack of points, more so he seems terrified to make any plays with the puck. Hardly keeps possession of the puck, want to get rid of it almost immediately even when not under pressure.

The team needs to see it through and give him a long leash on LW1, but he needs to pick it up sooner than later
