Are they really going to start the season w Lee on line 1. I might have to find another hobby this fall
I still see no top six upgrades. The glaring weakness once again. No matter how you slice it still a roster that lacks punch offensively. Without added punch isles just a fringe playoff team once again. I wonder how it ends for you know who, A. Finishes up contract and retires. B. Walks out before the train wreck. C. Owners fire you know who as isles plummet to bottom of standings. Most likely scenario C. Must have hurt to send flop holmstrom to ahl. Meaning will be first injury call-up.
Johnston has been waived. Holmstrom was sent down as well, but is expected to be brought back up. Ross takes 24 hours to be off the roster per NHL rules.
Engvall or Gauthier should be LW1. Need some speed with Barzal.

heres is the problem….they have to shut up and just play hockey…wally has to shut up and just play…i dont want to hear what there gonna do and prove the critics wrong..that puts alot of pressure to perform…just shut up and play..last thing they have to do is just shut up and play hockey..the other thing is stop celebrating like they won the game in overtime with every goal..give each other a pat on the butt and shut up….TRUELY this is the last thing DID I MENTION SHUT UP AND STOP TALKING AND JUST PLAY HOCKEY…OK IM DONE

Vaske was a solid Dman for the Islanders. Unfortunately his carear was cut short by severe concussion issues. I can't remember the game when his carear was basically ended by a blatant cheap shot. Back then the rules did not protect the dmen going back for the puck and he got reamed and Basically that was the end. He could have had a good long carear if not for his concussion issues.
Lou had to send Holmstrom down because he waived Johnston late and wouldnt have cleared by the deadline. I assume he wanted to make sure teams had their rosters in to miminize the potential of someone claiming Ross. Holmstrom will be back up this week, I assume.
Simon will be back today. Ross either gets claimed or sent down to make room for him. I used to think Ross could develop into an effective power forward, but he doesn't seem to learn much at all.

Brock Nelson I think got displaced akin to Gaborik when Kings got Lucic when got Bo. So I think he will eventually get traded or move on when his contract is up. Islanders fans can rejoice seeing another Goalie 32 Dipietro contract for JEts. They really would fit right in with New Jersey heh. All Barzal seems to do is hold on to the puck like a soccer player in a Simpsons episode. Need somebody on there who can score as I'm not really believing Bo gets 40. Dobson hopefully can score 30 or 20 heh as going to need a lot of goals on the PP. I used to play on DraftKings along with FAnduel before ruined the scoring for NHL so would be clusters instead of winning by 10 points it was like point 1 heh. Then there was Draft Day or some others which got some T shirts from ;). Matt Martin is a Fan Favorite who didn't do well for Toronto :).

Ducks claim Ross. He'll make a good protecter for that young squad. Pretty much what I predicted. I hope the extra playing time helps Ross refine his role and use his skating and wrister to score a bit more. Just not when he plays the Isles.
Well I hope all Ross haters are happy! He’s moving on to the Ducks and I’m happy for him. He never complained, was a good team player and did the best he could with the playing time he was given. Gil—I told you Ross would get claimed this time around. Think we don’t need toughness with aging Matty now being forced to take on battles he’d rather not? Want to play tough and tumble hockey ya say. Let’s try it—let Mayfield or Romanov take a run take a run at someone and see how it works out this year. Other coaches knew that Ross was a possibility to play——think teams are afraid to play our team now? Prediction—-we will get run out of many buildings this year physically. Why? Because we have a play physical mindset and it will happen. In closing boys—-ever pass by house and ya see the “gun sign” or “Beware of Dog” sign. Well maybe they don’t have a gun or dog but do ya go out of your way to find out? We just lost both those signs. I don’t want to argue with anyone—not the best day—-but mark my word—we will get rum out of a number of buildings. Take care Gil
