Props to the guy for sticking around now hopefully he goes back to junior and lights up the league and comes to camp next year ready to compete.
We need some more talent that is on ELCs!

Really excited about this guy’s future! Hopefully he reaches his potential. The direction of this team under Treliving feels like it will be more of a blending of skill with increased tenacity and Cowan perfectly fits that.

I know we always say “Man, this guy might be an absolute steal!” but Easton Cowan has a variety of reasons that might actually be legit.
I talked about this when he was drafted, but Cowan took a major leap in the back half of the season. He had something like 23 points in his first 36 games, and then in his final 52 games (including playoffs) he had 51 points, including 21 points in 20 playoffs games, which made him the OHL rookie playoff scoring leader by a mile.
To add onto that, the previous years were ravaged by COVID. That means the body of work was limited dramatically on a lot of these prospects. I think there’s going to be a few diamonds in the rough found, not just by the Leafs, because of that. Players that were overlooked, essentially, due to lack of ability to play.
I think we’re going to see Cowan obliterate the OHL this year and hopefully be leading Canada in the Juniors.

I really hope the knights kick ass this year now. It’s a beast of a team they have now

I was hoping the guy would stay for 9 games and see how he adapts..

If that’s what he can do at 18, I can’t wait to see him next year.

Why would people think it is best to stay up when he’s going back to the top ranked junior team in the CHL, contend for an OHL championship, memorial cup and world junior tournament playing top line minutes, PP1, and potentially wear a letter for the Knights. That is by far the best development for him.
