I’ve been seeing this more and more and honesty I just don’t see the trade. We get rid of a defensive log jam for what, 3 years, if they retain 30% it’s a wash on salary (almost), then we still need to make more room on an already overcrowded wing.
Someone would still need to be sent down on right wing for a 17-29-46 in 81. Team loves Bemstrom, and Danforth just got extended another year.

Yeah, this article is trying to fit a round peg into an oval. We do have what the Canucks need in a right-shot defenseman but we absolutely DO NOT need a 27-year-old 40-point winger.
Make the most sense for the Canucks maybe. Definitely not for us.
I could see maybe a 3 team trade. Team 3 sends appropriate compensation to CBJ, CBJ sends whichever dman to Vancouver, team 3 gets Garland.
