Reacting to Barclay Goodrow DESTROYING Anders Lee (9/30/23) (Preseason)

Wow! What a fight by Goodrow. Not only did he destroy Anders Lee, but he WRECKED him. Lee got rekt! Definitely a fight needed to spark the team after a really bad game (and to also defend Mac Hollowell, who got hit). Well, it basically worked as the Rangers dominated the 3rd period with goals by Othmann, Goodrow, and Cuylle. Unfortunately, the Islanders held on, and the Rangers lose 5-3. That first half costed us the game. Jonathan Quick has been really bad, and sadly, he has become the worst goalie for the Rangers this postseason. Dylan Garand continued to be great. If we had started Garand instead of Quick, who knows what would have happened. Quick would have given up less goals in the 3rd, and we would have won. Panarin made his first appearance, and he didn’t do well this game. He picked up where he left off in the postseason and didn’t do anything. You can mistake him for a ghost as he didn’t appear anywhere. The only thing he did was give the puck away, leading to the Islanders’ 2nd goal. Part of the blame goes to Panarin, as if he hadn’t given the puck away, the game would have been tied, and the game would have gone to overtime. Of course, there is no guarantee that the Rangers would have won the game, but still. It is bad. I seriously hope this isn’t the start of a slow and steady decline for Panarin. I hope last season’s regular season isn’t the moment where Panarin peaked. But we made an effort to come back, and Othmann and Cuylle have been great, so much so that they are now fighting for that final forward spot. I am certain Othmann would win. Like, he scored 2 goals. HE IS THE LEADING GOAL SCORER FOR THE TEAM THIS PRESEASON SO FAR! FOR THE LOVE OF GOD, THIS HAS TO BE THE YEAR FOR HIM! If he doesn’t make the roster, the Rangers are dumb. But anyways, we need to win our final 2 games to finish the preseason with a 500 record. And we definitely need to get out of last place.
