Yakupov was an epic bust, not surprised.
And that was the right call. #1 overall, and he plays a few seasons in the NHL averaging 25 points per season then bolts back to Russia. Dodged a bullet.
I wonder who the other player with the bad interview was…
Tomas Vanek was the 2nd guy. Burke brought him up in another interview that was nearly verbatim to this one.
As an Av fan…I HATED Burke, when he was with Vancouver,& they were in our division…but this guy is awesome. Maybe my favorite hockey commentator…though there are some great ones here in the USA also…

Yakupov was a bust for sure and that whole years class in hindsight wasnt great. But good for Yakupov, interviews and combines are such a waste of time . Especially in NFL , if a question is stupid in your opinion than dont answer it f these guys trying to test you .

I think Yakupovs english was bad. And thats the problem. He didnt understand it.
