Looks like Carrick was going for the shoulder, but McNabb falling put him in a bad spot. Not malicious IMO.
When is player safety gonna start holding players accountable for this shit instead of handing out measly 5k fines. This shit is just gonna keep happening when theres little to no discipline.
Fan of neither team, but that hit wasn't malicious. McNabb fell to his knees as Carrick was going to deliver a hit. It was more unfortunate than anything.

How to draw a penalty?
Drop to your knees just as somebody goes for the hit.
"puck nowhere near McNabb" as it's a foot away
In 1994 that play would have continued and with 5 more infractions before play stopped. No one would group up prob just send out the boys for a 5 min go and that's it.
