Other than the result this season does feel different. Most players who had poor years last year are stepping up, but they just haven’t got the results quite yet.
The exception to that though in my opinion is Kadri. He is still playing the lazy game that plagued him in the latter half of last season.
It might not be apparent to those who have never played the game, but offside is a very conscious decision (unless it’s comes down to inches). Kadri took an incredibly lazy offside last night in the 3rd when Tanev didn’t pass him the puck. That’s why it’s obvious that his selfish nature continues into this season. At 9.5 mil, if he doesn’t change that quickly we are screwed.

Had a feeling we’d go 0/3 in the shootout. I need a reason to believe that Huberdeau or Kadri or Yegor are going to be clutch for us cause I’m not seeing them being game breakers so far. Super early though, let’s get back to winning on Thursday!

Championship teams manage to score a goal when they have 2 PPs in the last 10 mins of a tied game.
Other than that, we’re playing hard and fast.

Well, it was a decent game from Flames even though they lost. They are faster than last year, PP has been incredibly mid but they have scored on it in every game so far and the PK is still undefeated, so imo could be a lot worse. D coverage needs _a lot_ of work still but thankfully it’s been 3 games so there’s time.
I’m most disappointed in some of our fans. Criticism is fine and fans have every right to be pissed off, but I really can’t stand people who show up only when the team is not doing well and have nothing else to say but “huberdeau sucks kadri sucks huska sucks everyone sucks fuck this fuck that” like it’s honestly embarrasing to read. You can be critical without sounding like a 16 year old having a hormone rage. Yeah it’s sports and in the heat of the moment emotions take over but come on. This place is almost becoming Flames twitter/CP bad, so I’m just gonna step away for a while. Peace out

They really need to find some line combos that work. There hasn’t been any chemistry to speak of out there.

Seems like Huberdeau still has the yips. Lot of bad passes and giveaways last night. Overthinking it.

I’ll be honest, I think 3 points in 3 games while learning an entirely new system is something I’ll take without complaining. Especially considering two of the biggest issues from last season have shown drastic improvements (huberdeau’s production and markstrom’s confidence)

Another game where I really don’t think you can be too upset if you’re looking at the big picture.
Team played well, highly paid players are looking good (minus Kadri), and you can see the new structure start to work. We’re only really getting scored on when we have major breakdowns.
If the guys can start hitting the net, we’re going to have a really good season.
