Okay, so after naming him as the #1 goalie in the NHL, I have no issue making a video detailing why I have that opinion.

THANK YOU!
My only gripe with Vasi is that he’s at times too disciplined and it can make him look leaky. He has a lot of those weird “you should of had that” goals against.
He took offense to that 2019 playoff series. He came out with a vengence and he was a huge part in their cup run. Crazy that the 2012 draft produced both Vasilevskiy and Hellebuyck (although in drastically different rounds) and they both ended up as two of the best goalies in the league.
Wins is a stupid goalie stat. Teams win games. Sure, Vasi is better than Howard, definitely, but how many wins would he get with Detroit?
Same with that argument that Smith got 4 cups in a row so he was the best goalie. No, that shows the Islanders was the best team. And yes, he was a part of that team, but he wasn't that team. Now I'm not saying that Smith wasn't the best at the time. I'm just saying it's a stupid argument.
Every Stanley Cup winning goalie has a good team in front of them. That's kind of how they win the cup…. That doesn't mean that the goalie isn't also good.
What was the bishop and Seguin video that was just taken down
Made a mistake when calculating vasilevskiy's playoff wins, he has 33 career playoff wins, not 23.
I think vasilevasky is an amazing goal tender but I feel like a lot of it has to do with Tampa’s amazo defence, he is very good but he has a lot of week spots like low blocker/high blocker and etc. I think we should give credit to Tampa’s defence a little more.
He should have won the playoff MVP.
This is in direct response to that Oilers fan saying Vasi is overrated and I love it
do a vidoe about Jagr´s carier
I'm on the Hellebuyck train choo choo. It's just so much easier to tell a goalie's sick when he's not playing behind Tampa's defense. I'm guessing Hellebuyck will regress and Vassy will stay the same proving he's better next season, but all I've got is what just happened and I'm with Connor.
Splitting hairs ofc, shoulda mentioned
Vas on that hall of fame trajectory. Just gotta stay healthy, and he will get better as he hits 30 years of age.
I dunno. Vasilevskiy has Tampa's incredible defense, and a LOT of talented forwards who are great backcheckers helping him out. It's important to note that you're never really comparing apples with apples when you compare goalies, because each goaltender has a different team, playing a different style, with different average talent and hard-work levels, in front of them. In my experience, good goaltenders can look INCREDIBLE when they're playing for the best teams. Look at the 2016-17 Penguins. Matt Murray became the first goaltender to win TWO Cups as a rookie. And people thought, man this Murray guy must be the best EVAR!!! And now…he's getting a decent paycheque for the Sens, but it wasn't like there were a whole buncha teams competing for his talents (once the Pens made it clear that they were planning on moving him). He's an above-average goaltender with consistency issues. But if he was traded to the Lightning after his 2017 Cup win, he would have put up similar numbers to Vasi over that time period…because as his Penguins were waning, the Lightning were ascendant.
I think you could've put 2014-15 Carey Price on ANY team, and he would've won the Vezina that year. It's not like he was playing on a team that played strong team defense; in fact, the Habs back then were notable for how many shots they were giving up, confident in their goaltender's ability to stop them. He played like an incredible goaltender because he WAS an incredible goaltender. With that said, I do think Vasilevskiy is one of the better goalies in the league. I'd just like to see how he'd play if he was on the Kings…or the Red Wings. My guess…not as well.
My pick for the best – Hellebuyck. The Jets went into the 2019-20 season defensively diminished, having lost a LOT of great defenders. And yet Hellebuyck still played well enough to get the Vezina. That shows us that he'd have been even better on a team like the Lightning or Golden Knights. In fact…if it wasn't for some historically bad luck, there's a chance the Jets would've been playing the Lightning in the Final this year.
Last year it was just that tampa could not find ways to score against the jackets. Was not Vasys fault they got swept
Do you think anyone will surpass Brodeur in wins? Ever?
Couldn't agree with ya more shannon, he is THE BEST!!! But still waiting for ya to comment me back on ya Keenan video ya did in which for first time i disagreed with 80% of things ya said about keenan on that video!!!
the best goaltender without question
I would totally watch if you made a list of 20 and did a video on all of them
He is the best in nhl
Whos numbah 2?
Loved watching him in the AHL playing for the Syracuse Crunch!
THG really appreciate this video about tampas great goalie. def a major factor to the TBL's success.
am asking can you do a video about brayden point. he had a strong case to be made for mvp until hedman went next level good in the SCF.
imo brayden point has an amazing future ahead and deserves respect put on his great name!
cheers from southern ontario 🇨🇦 😁
Tampa will tough in 21.
Vasilevskiy is a real machine. The best modern goalie I've seen, no clear weaknesses. He's huge but have explosiveness and agility like he's 5'10'' / 170.
His positioning and anticipation is one of the best in todays game. A lot of the "best" saves you see is often from goalies that are out of positioning in the first place or due to a poor defensive play/positioning from your own defenders. That's where I guess Vasi misses out on a lot of fans, simply because he's so good that he has many nights where it seems he didn't have many big stops.
He does have his moments where he let in very soft goals. Quite frequently actually, but makes it up by often making those insane saves after lateral movements (and) with control. At 6'3 you can only do this by being extremely well trained. Proof of how much it takes, at his frame, to get where he's at.
To me it's very clear. 4-5 more healthy years on the same level he's at now, then he's the best goalie of his generation, jersey retired in TB, 1st ballet Hof and Top 10-15 all-time.
I’d argue that Vasilevskiy is already a hall of famer. One Vezina trophy, One Stanley cup, best save percentage in the shootout all-time, 159 wins. Only at 26 years old. I think he’ll win at least two more Vezina trophies and maybe one more cup. Probably ending at 400ish wins
Going into the 3rd round I knew the lighting had it, had my questions against Columbus and in round 2 I was still thinking it’s Colorado or Vegas cup to win and by the 3rd I was like well Tampa is winning it this year. Wasn’t mad with the outcome I do like some of their players and this was a much needed run from them. I got a feeling Vasiliky is going to take them on another deep playoff run again dude is a stud
Overrated goalie as hell look the defensive like seriously Carey price better goalie in the ligue
If Vasi goes on his current trajectory then Tampa will have a dynasty. Calling it now.
Vasilevskiys playoff run was almost under rated somehow, I feel like alot of people aren't realizing just how amazing of a playoff run he had. While everyone was talking up a mediocre khudobin they basically ignored Vasi
Nice to see all the Vasi haters didnt bother to comment, there are a ton of em.
Now he’s a the conn smyth winner.
Watching Vasiy play is so much fun.
He makes Hedman & the defense look better; and they make his job better.
