Good trade for both teams IMHO—Change of circumstances can sometimes help a player grow.

Why even report on this trade ?
Have you ever tried a nothing burger before.
No idea on the players coming from the Pens. Rathbone does have potential, good skater and good shot. Problem is that he thinks the game waaay too slow, which historically in our organizational at least can't seem to be corrected. Maybe a fresh start will help him, but if he doesn't start to think the game faster he's gonna end up with some serious medical issues as he's missed a lot of time already as a result of getting plastered by huge hits he just didn't seem to anticipate. Plasek is EU 4 life in my watchings.
Change of scenery trade I think. It was becoming apparent that Friedman was never going to be a fulltime NHLer with the Pens, and same could be said for Rathbone with the Canucks. Also the Baby Penguins had too many veteran players and had to dump someone anyway.
