what really annoys me the most is that this franchise finally drafts a good center prospect. probably the best centerman prospect this team has ever seen and we stick him on the wing. like im not even asking to put him on the first line. its just really frustrating
The term that comes to mind is fragile. This team is fragile physically and mentally. Physically in that they have way too many guys who are just constantly injured (Werenski, Chinakhov, Tarasov etc.) so they will take themselves out from the equation just by playing. And mentally in that once there is a setback, a bad goal or unlucky break, this team just folds over and stops trying. They might start the game well and be good for the first 15 minutes, and then there is a bad goal and the rest of the team just deflates like: "oh not this again, well better luck next time.". That is totally different mindset that some teams have. Like florida was down 2 to 5 in the 3rd and was pushing like crazy. All lines were relentless even though there was only like 4 minutes left of the game. That is something you don't see from this team. They have zoned out a long time ago before that.
I might be in the outside on this among most cbj fans but redwings is my 2nd favorite team. Now with that being said, I wanted to break my TV I was so mad last night.
I would rather see Greaves in goal than Martin. Martin is not good. Our 4th line is a disaster, and needs fixed immediately. Kuraly has never been good.
It's another Buffalo game from last year we came out flat
Rather they have this type of a collapse at the beginning of the season rather than mid season. How they respond on Friday is going to be very telling as to what we can expect this season

Frankly this lineup will never be anything more than it is. Its clear we need offence who can hold the puck and make a play, as well as better tendies.
They need to stop handing out big contracts to unproven one offs. Merzlekins, Gudbranson, Severson, Frankly Werenski, Roslovic, Kuraly. Its brutal.
It feels like we had a REALLY lazy camp. Kinda miss those Tortorella bag skates. Last 3 years we've looked BAD from the get go.
Also, where has Gaudreau been? I know its spooky season but he's an absolute ghost out there.
just wanted to say to Jay and Hayden that you guys rule. Your takes for our CBJ are not only awesome but typically exactly what i’m thinking. It’s nice to see realistic thoughts on this team without ripping it to shreds like i see comment sections so often do. Even though i was so horribly annoyed with the performance against the wings i just think to myself how talented the Jackets are and how much more they can build on with the awesome team they have. May take some time yet, which is so insanely hard to accept but seeing these guys win is so rewarding with all the struggles they face. Again thank you both for a daily awesome podcast i always look forward to listening to all you’ve got to say.
Fantilli is going to be a stud. As a rw fan I need to remind you that last year you were the 2nd lowest team in the draft…and you ended with the 3rd pick. You haven't turned over enough of your team to be competitive
