How surprising are Rick Tocchet’s critical postgame comments?

After the Canucks were shutout against the Flyers, head coach Rick Tocchet called his team’s play ‘soft’. Is that too harsh considering it’s just their first loss of the season? Martin Biron joins Lindsay Hamilton on SC with Jay Onrait to weigh in.

  1. Tocchet's comments are my sentiments exactly. No compete in anyone except Demko & Hughes. Tocchet shouldn't be surprised … this country-club attitude that plagues their dressing room is nothing new

  2. Really happy with how upfront Tocchet is with the fan base and the team. No sugar coating, just the plain truth. That's what they need to help change old habits and bring in new ones.

  3. If you watched this game you wouldn't have any problem with what Tocchet said Vancouver were out checked and out worked by a very average Flyers team especially in the second period where they were dominated and showed no urgency and determination to change the momentum and could have been blown out if it wasn't for Demko standing on his head.

  4. Did she actually say two dominant wins over the Oilers. I guess she was asleep at the second game. The Oilers dominated the game 40-16 in shots and Vancouver goaltender DeSmith stood on his head and the Oilers goaltending was bad 😮

  5. Mustn't hurt the feelings of the millionaire babies. This is why so many capable coaches get fired. Little boys can take the money but not the criticism. Could you imagine going to the owner of your company and saying, " the boss was mean to me because I didn't do my job " SMFH

  6. I forgot how bad they are, now I remember what its like to be a Canuck. Now we have 6 loss in a row ahead, then a tight game against Sharks. The positive side is betting against them will generate money.

  7. The media has been way too obsessed over coaches comments so early in the season.

  8. This is hockey not flag football. They played like shit aside from Demko they should be embarrassed. A bunch of millionaires slacking. Glad to see our coach demand better.

  9. If you watched the game in reference, the Canucks had no jump from the start. Tocchet is bang on with his comments.
