GAME RECAP: Penguins at Red Wings (10.18.23) |  Karlsson Scores His First with Pittsburgh

The Penguins headed out to Detroit for this tilt with the Red Wings, and the first minute of play had yet to elapse before Evgeni Malkin got Pittsburgh on the board. Reilly Smith continued his chemistry with his new linemate, finding Malkin’s blade with a cross-crease feed, which ended up in the back of the net. DeBrincat continued his hot start to the season as well, evening the score, 1-1 near the midway point of the period. Chiarot then notched his first of the season just under six minutes into the 2nd period, and Copp added one for the home team roughly ten minutes later. Former Penguins player David Perron scored for Detroit on the power play, making it 4-1 for the Red Wings. Early in the 3rd period, Erik Karlsson earned his first goal in the black and gold, getting the Penguins within two. After a penalty shot save by Tristan Jarry, Michigan-native Bryan Rust deftly deflected a Karlsson shot, making it 4-3 in favor of the home team. Then, both Copp and DeBrincat tallied again into an empty net, making the final score 6-3 for Detroit.

  1. Pens looked horrible trying to dump and chase half the game, Detroit either straight out beat them to puck, or out numbered them and took control

  2. No way that was onsides, the one wings player was across the live before the puck crossed the line. Goal should have not counted!!!

  3. I can see how you might like it, but Detroit has the most annoying horn, song, and horn sound effects right now

  4. High stick and Interference. Jarry looking for help from the refs, not going to get it.

  5. Где буллит увидел арбитр? Клюшка не дошла до игрока😮.Защита плохо сегодня отыграла
