  1. As a die hard redwings fan and die hard knights fan let me see if there competing very strong against pretty much every contender teams especially teams on the rise trying to take the next step like where doing like Buffalo and Ottawa this weekend.

  2. If we beat Ottawa, it's safe to say this teams legit. You know Ottawas going to bring that playoff grit and it's up to the boys to retaliate. I have a feeling that this games going to officially establish a hateful rivalry between the two clubs moving forward. I'm talking Late 90s Colorado vs Red Wings hate and I CANT WAIT.

  3. On the rise, lots of upside, each season Yzerman makes strides. Pretty cool for Deetroit especially with the Lions where they are.

  4. They've looked dominant for stretches of all four games so far. I don't think there's been a complete 60 minute game, or at least one that they are really happy with, but the fact that they've looked so good and still have plenty of room for improvement is exciting as hell. Factor in that the roster isn't totally finalized and there's still early season rust to shake off, and I can't wait to see what this team might look like 2 months from now.

  5. Biggest game of the NHL season up to this point is Ottawa vs Detroit this Saturday. I’m really interested to see what Detroit looks like Saturday compared to last seasons back-to-back which was embarrassing.

  6. We’re 4% through the season and haven’t played Ottawa yet. I think they’re better though; should be a dogfight within the division.

  7. …inevitably? Not sure why you felt the need to disrespect this roster like that. They've shown nothing that would indicate a long losing streak is inevitable this season. Relax with the self-deprecation of your own team.

  8. The game Saturday between the Sens and Wings is going to be so good they are pretty similar in most stats to start the season and both have played similar level of opponents Id say

  9. Used my #1 pick in my fantasy draft and got Alex DeBrincatt … everyone thought I was nuts. I knew he’d thrive in Detroit, so far so good 😎😎

  10. Dude the Wings are here to stay. They made 8 solid steps forward this off-season with their 8 player pickups. 8 solid steps equals 1 giant leap. This isn’t hope or hype. It’s math.

  11. Ironically you dropped this at around the same time as THG dropped "Is This Solid Play by the Wing Sustainable for the 2023-24 Season?"

  12. This is actually the most nerve wracking part of a rebuild: Where the team excites and terrifies you in equal measures.

  13. The hot start and increased scoring so far have been fun, and I hope that we do see better scoring over the course of the whole season than we have had recently, but the level we have seen so far is unsustainable. Within a few weeks, other teams are going to figure out ways to adjust their defense to contain what is working for us on offense.

If the Red Wings really want to take the next step, they need to improve defense, which has been middle of the pack so far. I am hoping that to some extent, defensive problems have been due to miscommunication between the unusually high number of new players who are not used to playing together, because that is something which should improve as the season continues.

With a middle of the pack defense, our better-than-before offense might be able to outscore our mistakes often enough to sneak into the playoffs, but that won't be enough to accomplish much once we get there.

  14. Blue Jackets. Nobody really covers this team and look as a CBJ fan I can't say we're off to a good start what are your thoughts do you think it's just a tough start especially playing against a hot red wings team

  15. What stands out is that all of this seems sustainable, scoring is being spread around, 10+ skaters with at least 1 goal, Copp looks like the guy the Rangers grabbed for their playoff run. El Gato and Larks have great chemistry and quick. New addition forwards are delivering, Sprong will have a monster game when we play Seattle this year.

  16. Maybe it's too early, but can you do a video comparing where the Red Wings are at statistically right now, compared to the same time last year, and maybe even a year or few prior?

  17. Thanks for the video, buddy. It's nice to understand that your favorite team is finally on the rise. I hope that this is the completion of the restructuring in the team, and we will have wonderful hockey throughout the entire season. good luck to the team in the next game with the senators. Go RED WINGS!!!

  18. Debrincat was always streaky in Chicago. His 2022, 2021, and 2019 seasons were exceptional but Hawks fans all remember how he wasn’t great in 2020. It wasn’t a surprise for us to have a poor finishing season last year, nor is it a shock to see him off to such a hot start. I have a feeling this is going to be a part of his reputation throughout his whole career.

  19. Long time fan here. Great video, one of your best. I sincerely hope that Red Wings will get a legitimate run to playoff contention this year: they are more than the sum of the team's parts (if you are looking at this draft-wise), and this is exactly what Yzerman did in Tampa back in the day (Point, Kucherov etc.). Some of the individual growth will happen naturally, some will never materialize, but at the end of the day it all comes down to — ugh, the banality — the valuation of teamwork: acquisitions have been adequate at least — maybe not stellar as some might have hoped — but the trajectory is upwards in all areas, and this is what we are seeing this season: the mindset of losing appears to be history. Franchise-minded players like Raymond, Seider, Rasmussen and the likes are just entering their prime while Copp, Larkin & Co. are finding their foothold as role players with offensive upsides. Overall, the roster structure, the morale and the executive trajectory are all looking good, but there is definitely more work to be done once this horse is off to the races. Keep up the good work on this channel! <3
