The team got manhandled by the Panthers again. It's actually crazy. I was hoping for at least a pound of flesh if Florida was going to beat us. Instead we get this baby poo softness, again.
I give Treliving 10 games until he starts making serious changes. Players like Reilly and Nylander will get on his nerves very quickly

Honestly the we want flordia chants bothered me the leafs struggle with Boston always so you want the team that fought their way back to beat Boston. Makes no sense Boston or flordia they weren't making it. They don't play play off hockey. I'm a leafs fan and I was never a dubas fan in the way he built the team but schenn o'reily accari and others I thought we had a chance. But honestly shouldn't have beat Tampa. And this year's team wow I have wanted domi burtizzi and reaves to be leaves for years but it's not looking great only 4 games but they all look like rookies besides mathews and nylander never thought I'd say it but pay nylander scrap who you need to. Marner was my favorite leaf but he disappeared in play offs wanna take him out of the game hit him.
Klingberg is beyond bad. Every single game
i am going back to my felling last year. lets blow it up early enough and try something new, i dont believe this core will get it done. maybe a bad start to the season helps with that.

Making the finals is an accomplishment. Obviously it hurts even more to not win the Cup once they get there, but winning three rounds is hard.

Keefe can't coach the style of game you're talking about Steve. You can't expect a TEAM – not a few players added in free agency – to change their style of play without a coaching change. Keefe as a coach gets pushed around so of course the players do.

For what Matthews is getting paid, he should be scoring at least 1 goal every game and have 2 assists.
Klingberg was such a bad add. Rielly is probably thrilled watching him shart himself out there and steal his top pp opportunities.
Don’t know if acquiring one shutdown stud is the answer to their poor team defence though. Seems like a coaching issue to me. Look over at Philly, their blue line doesn’t look great but they’re 3-1 and have allowed 3 goals against in their 3 wins. Torts has them buying into team defence clearly. Keefe has been horrifically unable to do that pretty much his entire tenure.

if we have to watch Auston pull this team through the mud, it's going to be a very, very long season.
All night, Klingberg looked like he was reminiscing about a bad break up back in high school, passively playing hockey in the meantime.
Having some grit towards the end of bench does have it's benefits, although it definitely doesn't help with defending.
As far as I'm concerned, we aren't serious contenders and we haven't been in many, many years.
In my opinion, the only way this is going to change is to build the team's structure around it's defensive core; as well as picking up a goalie who is relatively reliable.

For me the best part about Leafs losses is seeing all the excuse-making made on the Sportsnet comment section, followed a day or so later by complaints from Leafs fans that they weren't higher on the latest power rankings. I've never encountered a fanbase that talks more trash with so little to justify it.
