Hanifin is a solid Dman dunno why we wouldn’t be happy to sign him long term and he’s only 26

Yeah not a fan at this juncture. Why not wait until we get a better idea of what this team really is? Otherwise Conroy’s going to have committed serious dollars and term to a very mediocre bunch and it’ll take even longer to recover from that.

What’s with the negative comments on Hanifin literally all of the time? I feel like I’ve taken crazy pills…do we all think young defensemen with offensive upside who are solid a majority of the time while eating first line minutes are growing on trees?

Check the free agent market, who is an upgrade?

Check the trade block, who’s worth losing an asset over just keeping Hanifin?

Fairly hot take but at this point I’d rather have Hanifin locked up long term than Lindholm. Is Lindholm more valuable to our team and better? Yes. But Hanifin is also a full two years younger than Lindholm and isn’t going to get paid nearly as much. Locking up Lindy is locking us into not rebuilding for a while, meanwhile locking in Hanifin would give us flexibility to other compete or rebuild

Great news if we can get him on a reasonable contract.

2-2-1 on a team that didn’t make playoffs last year. Not saying they can’t but shouldn’t we be sure this is a consistent playoff team before signing even more guys to long term deals?

Much rather trade hanifin and sign zadorov

Yeah this is good news. I’m happy about it. Hanifin is great, hope it’s a fair deal for both sides if anything does get done

Wow this is great news and no one should complain. He’s young and probably just entering his prime
