It was a night Connor Bedard will never forget. The rookie phenom scored a goal in his first career game at the United Center, but unfortunately for the Chicago Blackhawks, it was not enough against the defending Stanley Cup Champion Vegas Golden Knights. Bedard got the scoring started with a goal in the first period but was quickly answered by William Karlsson. Reese Johnson scored in the 2nd period on a great deflection. And in the closing seconds, Corey Perry tallied a goal of his own. The Golden Knights would go onto win 5-3. You 2 gotta realize Athanasiou is not a top 6 on a good team. He is a filler for now during the rebuild. You 2 seem to think he is a top 6. He is not. I Am a much better hockey guy than you 2 and all 3 combined. I do respect your show. I'll tell you what will happen and how long your rebuild will take. Bedard is my dude. I've known him way longer. When he is 23 he will finally lead you to payoffs. Unless you get better help by then, you will lose when Nedsy is 23 by round 2. You will win many cups,a again when Bedasy gets real support. Kyle Davidson ain't me. I would win you 7 cups as a GM with Connor.
The first 40 minutes was a fantastic effort by the Hawks. Once that 3rd Vegas goal went in at the beginning of period 3, they lost all momentum. But this is the type of game where a Bedard highlight makes the loss sting a little less. What a freaking goal that was.
I'd talk to the Rangers about Lafreneire. He needs a fresh start somewhere and is young enough to fit the teams future building.
