Edmenton Oilers, what are we doing, what are we doing? I mean is this the end of Oilers team this season? And why are we talking about in NHL season’s history?
The Toronto Sports Network media frenzy usually tied to obsessing every 'problem' on the Leafs now spreads to the Oilers. Early days people and don't expect too much anyway. Goaltending not strong enough to be a true contender and that's not news to anyone who follows hockey. Take pill, chill and go for a walk. Very early days, they'll be alright… It may be a blessing in disguise forcing other players to step up their game. Draisaitl is no schmuck as a first line centre! But as a true contender, not until they get an ace goaltender.
Is it time to panic for the Oilers? Although it's not yet panic-time, it almost is, with 1 win and 3 points over 5 games and at 30 the lowest points % among Canada's NHL teams. Sure the Habs 2 seasons ago started off the regular season with 5 straight regulation losses but just 3 points is IMO nowhere close to where the Oilers need to be. Ask me 5-10 more games after that and that points % is still <40, then I'd say the season will likely be closer to being a write-off.
The time to panic was before game one. Other teams retooled and obviously are starting with some energy. Oilers are well… at least we signed Sam Gagner and Connor Brown. LOL.
It's so hilarious that TSN and Sportsnet keep thinking the Oilers are contenders, when they've clearly tripped over their own d*cks to start the season. They suck, they lost to the Jets and TSN still put the Oilers above a bunch of better teams in their first "Power Ranking". There are 3 guarantees in life: Death, Taxes and hockey "experts" from Toronto and Edmonton pretending they're never wrong about something.
In case you guys didn't know somehow tsn (toronto sports network) does this whole panic thing everytime the Oilers lose 1 game. They'll follow this up with McDavid wants out next, and that he's going to toronto (a team that hasn't won a cup since 1967).

They’ve won 1 of their first 5 games & now don’t have the only reason they win any games in the lineup. The oilers & their fans never fail to amuse.
