  1. Wings looking pretty solid. Not going to be happy at all if they lower suspension on Andersson, no accident he was trying to take Patty's head off.

  2. It's sad that I'm still waiting for the bottom to fall out lol. But this team just feels different, reminiscent of the detroit teams I grew up with at least can find a way to win the game in all different ways.

  3. Holl 3 assist +5 haha! I love this team! I know this aint gonna last but god damn this is fun for the first time i 10 years!

  4. i never understood the things about "running up the score" and "disrespecting your opponent." last i checked, goal differential IS a tie breaker, so it's in every team's best interest to win games by as many goals as they can score. i'm a Wings fan, and i'm not mad at Arizona for putting up 9 or Pittsburgh for putting up 11 or the Rangers for putting up 8 against us; i'm mad that the team couldn't stop them.

except i'm not mad right now, so those are just distant memories šŸ¤£

  5. As a Red Wings fan all I can think is, ā€œareā€¦are the Red Wings good again?ā€ And I have hope, and that terrifies me lmao.

  6. Larkin is the hardest working p!ayer on the ice, every shift of every game. He is a true # 1 C….leads by example! Absolute retArded chemistry on that first line with the Cat and Ramond!!!

  7. Thanks Shannon and congratulations on being the first non local person to give detroit some credit! Lovin this so far

  8. 5-1….wow. Still early but nice to see them off to such a good start. Best start in 11 years and best start offensively since 97-98. The comment here about Larkin being happy is true. You could see in that first home game how psyched he was. He deserves it. He's been busting his butt for years and has had nothing to show for it (team wise) for those years.

  9. I sit here stupified each season as the sabres either are not going anywhere or always trying to catch up both ott and det are playing great!!! I should have never listened to all the hype. From a sabres fan congrats Wings and Sens

  10. Greaat show great comments!!

Itā€™s nice to watch how happy Raymond gets after an assist!
    Heā€™s turning into a playmaker!

  11. Itā€™s just a start beings fans I remember my sabres starting first place in December and still missingā€¦be excited but itā€™s a long season.

  12. Nope. Critics of the Yzerplan are going to go silent. Never understood what the criticism was founded upon given that the team has gotten better every single season since Yzerman returned to Detroit. 39-47-74-80-??. Yeah that's progress and it really hasn't taken that long. One looks at each trade in a vacuum, and there may be some head scratchers in there, …and Yzerman and Newsy Lalonde told everyone what they were doing all along. They wanted to be harder to play against, they wanted to play solid team defense, and they wanted to get more goals. Then the Detroit management and coaching staff went out and made those things happen. They're a PITA to match up with, they're giving up 2.5 goals per game, and they're potting 5 goals per game.

  13. The thing I like about this years Wings team is the depth. With guys like Sƶderblom, Edvinsson, etc.. in GR, I feel like we should be alright even if the injury bug hits. Still a long season ahead and things will change in the league (hopefully because my fantasy teams are hurting rn) but still nice to see them going.

  14. To all those saying "It's only 5 games. It'a too early to tell"…Thank you for your genius contribution to the conversation. None of us realized that they have only played 6 games. I thought it was March already

  15. I'm a life long Avs fan. For a 7 year run ('96 to '02) Colorado and Detroit had an incredible rivalry, meeting 5 times in the playoffs. At the helm for the Redwings, of course, was captain Steve Yzerman. He really was quite the player, even sometimes on one good leg. I'm glad to see his team as GM on the rebound, and the Atlantic, with maybe Ottawa and Buffalo also on the rise, is looking much tougher.

  16. Yes, the season is young, the Redwings having played only 6 games. Having said that, one of the big keys for me is goal differential, which for them is an eye popping +15. That to me indicates even though it's early, the Redwings really do need to be considered a legitimate playoff team.

  17. Red Wings need another ELITE caliber player to go deep into the playoffs. Things looking way up though.
