Jake Allen Puts on SHOW in Buffalo, Habs Power-Play Progress, Gallagher Still Gallagher
Montreal Canadiens beat Buffalo Sabres 3-1 October 23rd, 2023. Justin Barron, Brendan Gallagher and Tanner Pearson score for Montreal. Jeff Skinner scores lone goal for Sabres.
Their performance against the Devils tonight will determine my expectations going forward, if the habs win, go to OT or are at least competitive, ill expect that vs anyone this season, barring severe injuries to key players, not saying they will make the playoff, but i would be expecting them to be far from last at least.
Enough wins early on in the season vs Atlantic or East teams and who knows maybe we’ll sneak in the playoffs even if it’s not the plan at all and we’re definitely still rebuilding.
No matter, where MTL finishes i doubt it will affect negatively our draft capital, with good draft picks we go for players projected much lower anyways. Just watch them select an other defenseman again, it’s almost a guarantee at this point.
Happy with the win. Pearson! Yes! Gally! Yes! Monahan! Yes! If it were not for Allen…Habs were a bit sloppy, but they won. A lot of rebuilding ahead still. So happy for Pearson. Great find!
