I haven’t seen anything from him to even call him “resurgent”

  3. NightHaunted

Haven’t seen anything to validate that statement yet lol

I want Seth Jones to do well…….but at the same time I can count the mistakes he makes on one shift and think Korchinski and Vlasic both are already better than him and would be more sufficient on the PP#1 over him.

  5. i wish he would just focus on the defensive side of the game and transition. I feel like a great deal of his mistakes are him trying to do too much, especially on the offensive side of things. just let things come to him first.

Hell ya Seth make it happen. He played on some shitty hawks teams hopefully as the rebuild progresses he will get his stride back

  7. Pistol-Pat

His contract is going to bend us over like Seabrooks

  8. Material-Race-5107

He’s paid like a top 5 defenseman in the league and has:

Just 2 seasons of breaking 50 points in his career

A career plus minus rating of -97

Translation: paid like top 5 defenseman in the league for average offensive production and awful defensive stats.

The thing is… all hawks fans want more than anything for him to figure it out and prove us wrong it just remains to be seen lol if haters are fueling him to do better than I’m just gonna keep hating on him until he makes me feel less bad about his contract. It’s Chicago sports, we are emotional and brutal after many years of abuse. Just the way she goes.

He’s supposed to be the leader on the back end and looks lost. Gonna be even harder to develop the young guys if he can’t skate with his head on straight. Begging we see some “resurgence” this season

I wish I could get paid as much as him to shoot into player’s shins

  11. Well Seth, not a great job so far but there is still time especially with Korchinski on your line. Do what you do best, and let Korchinski take over the offensive playmaking.

I fully believe Seth Jones is a great player, and worth not too too much less then his contract is. But, he needs to understand he isn’t Duncan Keith. He needs to play to his strength which is shutdown defence and holding the line, let Korchinski do the offence. PLEASE!

You can tell he is motivated to prove… something.

He is absolutely hungry for the puck and to contribute to the play.. BUT his contribution needs to be directed by the coach. Currently, his hockey IQ is just not there. He charges into the zone as if he can puck handle through all on his own, but it just leaves him out of position and scrambling.

If he can tone this down, a lot, he can once in a blue moon push up and be a strong offensive help. Right now, we’ve only seen him put us on the side of having 1 defensemen.

I think he really wanted to step up and show a leadership role, but it turned into a bit of a twitchy mess.

I’m not even mad at this. I think Seth was given a role that he never should have. Bowman was amazing at finding guys who played solid offense (Panarin, DeBrincat, Suter, Kubalik). I think he felt that if he could create an “offensive juggernaut” team then the defense really wouldn’t matter (think 2018 Capitals).Seth was brought into inflate this, but got stuck playing D, which was not his forte.
The problem was that the league didn’t go that way and all these guys Stan had were not 2 way players and the hawks burnt to the ground.
If Seth actually steps up and delivers I think that’s great, however he is just a 1 dimensional player. He can either shoot, or play defense, but not both.

Seth Jones doesn’t look motivated to do anything ever.

Nice PR spin job by the Athletic to call his performance “resurgent”. He had one good game vs. Toronto.
