We look at the number of High Danger Chances the Wild have allowed so far this year, and why continuing to allow opponents to occupy the front of the net is just asking for trouble for Filip Gustavsson and Marc-Andre Fleury. We also discuss defensive zone turnovers as a similar problem that is allowing opponents an opportunity for a free reset, and thus putting more pressure on Wild goalies. Tonya Harding needs to hobble Merrill so Hunt can step in and play D instead of throwing an orange cone out there
Glad to see Hunt get called up, whether we see him play or not is a different story I think though.
Im expecting another sloppy back-and-forth game tonight, but expect a victory at home with no McDavid for the Oilers.
In addition to the problems in the defensive zone you’ve highlighted, it seems like our offensive forecheck has dropped in intensity. This is creating an imbalance in zone times. In years past the Wild could wear down opponents relentlessly creating havoc and scoring chances. An added benefit is it’s awfully hard for the opposing team to create HDC’s from their own end.
Edmonton 1/3/1 and us trying to get back to 500…Officiating will be huge in the deciding factor. Thoughts on if the Wild shows up on time tonight? DEANO GOT EM FIRED UP EH?
