Good effort?
Pathetic effort. If the isles want to try and play firebrand hockey against av's and faster more skilled teams then guess what THEY ARE GONNA FKN LOSE everytime. Score 4 goals and can't win. Can't hold a 4-3 lead and give up two goals in last minute of second and two more late goals is unacceptable. At least lee finally scored and casper the no scoring ghost appeared to score a very rare goal. Isles give up 40 shots once again. Can't blame sorokin. This one is on lane. Two straight shaky performances = lane will be on a short leash if this shit continues. He will take the blame before you know who failure to upgrade this roster ever does.

This team has a very bad habit of giving up goals in the last minute of a period and the last minute of a game, and it’s been a problem in recent years. Other teams seem to know that they don’t play to the whistle.

Can you name a player making 8.5mil a year who produces as little as Barzal? Is there another NHL team, not minor league, that Lane Lambert would be given an opportunity to head coach?
Pelech I'll have to blame again as when tied at 4 he got Point Blocked leading to the Avalanche Fifth Goal. Earlier in game he couldn't keep in zone which nearly led to a goal. Butch Gorin thought it should have been a penalty but Sorokin made a Nice Save. He let in a few weak goals. I'm thinking the issues might be Pelech had the concussion then surgery for achilles injury? Maybe he will recover but for playing defense it could be tough at Thirty. Dobson got more things on Net leading to Clutter Goals. Islanders seemed to do that in general which is why they scored more. Georgieve has their Number just like Comrie for Buffalo. Isles like Jets I walked out of room 3 2 making fries then it was 4 to 3? I saw it on DVR delay but didn't believe could let up 2 goals even knowing it. Barzal or Bo among others missed too many chances as well :).

Like last year, our more aggressive defensemen cost us. I guess Lane didn't learn anything from last years start. Pelech has been a turd so far. Was he the one who dove for a poke check deep in the offensive zone? He missed and landed at the dot and it led to a goal against. That's a crazy thing for a D-man to do so deep in the O-zone.
The Isles proved they can score goals when they forget about defense. Problem is, the other team scores more. Lane is showing stupidity to continue having the defensemen jumping in before he has the offense producing. If he wants the offense to take more chances to score, the defense needs to lay back and concentrate on defending.
On a side note, Ross has played 6 games and has a fight and 1 point. Good for Ross.
Luckily it's only game 5. There's positives to take away. We can score. Need to clean up the penalties and play tighter on defense. Sorokin is a god. And we need to play better in front of him. Long season. Only game 5. 77 left.
